OCTOBER 2024

Arthur stood on the balcony of their room overlooking Monterosso Beach. The early morning sun, made for a beautiful Italian coastline in a warm, golden light. He could hear the gentle crash of the waves against the shore. It was the perfect setting for what he had planned, and he felt a mixture of excitement and nerves fluttering in his chest.

Today was the day.

He turned back to the room where Karlee was still sleeping, her figure curled up under the soft linens. She looked peaceful, and he couldn't help but smile, feeling an overwhelming surge of love. He wanted everything to be perfect, just like she deserved.

Arthur quietly dressed and slipped out of the room, his mind racing with the final preparations. He had spent months planning this, making sure every detail was just right. He wanted this moment to be unforgettable for Karlee, something she would cherish forever.

First, he headed into town making a bee line to the flower shop, making sure to get them to deliver a large bouquet of her favorite flowers – white roses. Then he made his way over to the market to order a prepared charcutier board with her favorites. After that he met up with the photographer and planner to make sure they had everything he wanted ready to go for today evening.

He had chosen the ring months ago, a simple yet elegant band with a single sparkling diamond. It was classic and timeless, just like their love.

Making sure the place on the beach he had picked was rented out to keep away people from seeing them. He made his way back to the Villa they were staying at.

The early morning sun was just beginning to filter through the curtains, as he quietly closed the door behind him, he glanced over at Karlee, who was still curled up in bed, her face peaceful in sleep.

Setting the coffee and pastries on the small dining table, Arthur made his way over to the bed. He couldn't help but smile as he watched Karlee stir, her eyes slowly fluttering open.

"Good morning, beautiful," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

Karlee blinked a few times, a sleepy smile spreading across her lips. "Good morning, Tortue," she murmured, using her favorite nickname for him.

"I brought us some breakfast," Arthur said, pointing to the table. "Freshly baked croissants and coffee from the little bakery down the street."

Karlee stretched and yawned, sitting up in bed. "That sounds amazing," she said, rubbing her eyes. "You always know how to make me feel like a princess."

Arthur leaned in and kissed her forehead. "Only the best for you," he replied, his voice filled with affection.

They moved to the table, Karlee wrapping herself in a cozy blanket as she took a seat. Arthur handed her a cup of coffee, and she took a deep sip, letting out a contented sigh.
