Nari was getting ready for her date with Daesung. He said he had a suprise date for her and for her to dress warm.
Although it was almost October it had already started to get colder. Nari picked out her long baggy jeans, doc marten lace up boots, a basic long sleeve black tee, a neutral brown long coat and a white wool scarf. She pinned her bangs back and headed out the door with her Luis Vuitton bag sun young gave her.
She met Daesung at his apartment and he drove them off to his secret destination. When they arrived they're in a field with other people. She could barely make out what they were doing. People were on picnic tables in pairs writing on papers. The field was near a lake which contained boats galore.
Daesung grabbed Naris hand and led her to their table. He talked to someone who looked like an employeee of the place they were at and got two wrist bands. His put Naris on hers and she did vice versa.
"Where are we?" Nari asked perplexed by the scene before her.
"Something that's special to me" he replied. "Ever seen the Disney movie tangled?"
"Yes..." Nari started to put two and two together. Lantern festival?
"I took you to the Seoul lantern festival. We get to write our wishes here on lantern and when 9 o'clock hits, we go onto boats and light our lanterns. Then boom, we lift them off into the sky. Legend says whatever wish we put on them, it will come true." He said looking at Nari. He was smiling at her tucking her hair behind her air.
"I've always dreamt of this my whole life" Nari said happily. Her eyes light up with joy and she grabbed Daesungs hands running to an empty spot with lanterns.
They both sat down and started giggling together as they grabbed markers to decorate their lanterns. Daesung drew little flowers and demented looking panda bears on his lantern as Nari drew the flowers from tangled on them. Then in secret, they both wrote their wishes on their lanterns. When nine o clock hit Nari and Daesung headed off the the boats together.
Daesung paid extra so they could get a solo boat after convincing the worker enough that Nari was sick and it was her dying wish. It was quite literally but she wasn't quite sick and dying from it.
Daesung launched their boat off and ran in the cold water to do so. He was shivering so Nari grabbed the blanket on the boat and threw it onto themselves. She cuddled into his shoulder. They were both holding their lanterns hiding their wishes from each other but still able to see it themselves. Daesung was staring at his. Nari was staring at hers.
"Let's take a picture together!" He said.
He leaned his head into hers with her head still on his shoulder. He snapped a picture of them together.
Nari and him both looked at it with big smiles on their faces. They both looked good. There was joy in both of their eyes. They made each other happy.
Soon enough the horn blew signaling the lanterns to be sent off. One by one lights were ignited like fire flies in a field. Lanterns lifted off one by one into the night sky.
It came time for nari and Daesung to let there's go. Nari looked at her wish one more time and lifted hers off. It looked so beautiful disappearing into the night sky. She wrote a wish that meant dearest to her. She didn't wish for Tim nor Daesung. Not even Yoongi made it onto the lantern. But she wished for happiness and for whoever gets the chance to love her, that it will be to the end and last forever. Whoever she ends up with even if it's not Tim or Daesung, she wants them to help her be happy.
Nari looked over and Daesungs. He was still holding his.
"Dae? You can let urs go now?" Nari asked.
