TRIGGER WARNING: topics of self harm and suicide
The air was crisp; cold was settling in this time of year. Trees were starting to die with leaves skewed about the streets. Quaint little coffee shops were replacing the summer decor for fall with pumpkins everywhere. Their season fall drinks were broadcasted in the streets on signs, as well as pumpkin loafs and cinnamon rolls.
Nari fixed her scarf around her, tightening it as the day was turning into night. She held on tight to her pumpkin chai, as it was her source of warmth.
He should be here anytime she thought to herself. She sighed and looked right and left, searching for his figure. Students were passing by her. Classes must have just ended and they were exploring town. It was finally the weekend after all.
Nari anxious for him to meet her. She didn't know why. She was supposed to meet him tonight for dinner, they wanted to discuss their relationship. It should be to serious, right?
With her anxiety building up? She started to feel panicked. What if he doesn't want to be with her anymore?
All of the sudden, a pair of large arms hugged her from behind, and a head nuzzling into her scarf.
"Hello my darling" the stranger said.
"Hoseok !?" Nari said turning around and hugging him. "You finally showed up!"
"Sorry honey, I was running late but I had to grab your favourite treat but of course" Hoseok said grinning. "I know we have a dinner reservation, but this is for snacking later."
He held up a McDonald's bag and drink.
Nari smiled from ear to ear. "You got my fav McDonald's meal?! I I love u so much." She said kissing his cheeks over and over again.
Hoseok wad holding her waist as her arms caressed his neck. He was happy she chose him. She went back to him. His plan of coming back to Korea worked. Nari was his again.
" I also got you something." She said all giddy. She looked ecstatic to give him her gift. Her eyes full of glimmer and pure joy. She handed him her hot drink to hold as she dug through her back pack.
She brought out a semi half crushed pumpkin bread loaf. Her books defiantly moved around her bag and smashed the bread a bit.
"Oh no, the bread got smushed...im so sorry hobi, I didn't mean too. My books must of moved around and crushed them. I'm really sorry" Nari said sorrowfully.
"Hey hey hey, it's ok babes. You got my favourite bread. I'm so happy to have this. I appreciate what you do for me" he said caressing her cheek and smiling.
"Ehhheeh" Nari laughed.
"Let's exchange our gifts and go out to dinner" he said handing her the McDonald's bag in one hand and hos other hand had extended to her.
They switched gifts and Nari and Hoseok walked hand in hand down Seoul to go to dinner.
He reserved Korean bbq for the both of them. They both enjoyed their time immensely, laughing about smushed bread and their time together in high school.
"Nari, I'm so glad u chose me. I missed u" he said grabbing her hand.
She held it. "It was difficult but I'm glad to be with you" she said smiling.
