chapter 25

Arlo

Today was Viv's hospital session, as we sat in the cancer ward while she was braving her chemo, I begin to panic, thought after thought of how I'm going to propose and will she say yes.

My leg shakes faster, and my foot taps harder against the lino covered floor, making clinking sounds every time my heel touches the floor. "What going on, Arlo?". I freeze as I'm pulled out of my trance and look towards Viv with a worried look in her eye.

I take in a deep breath, "I'm planning on proposing to Luci, I want it to be perfect, and I'm worried that she will say no." I breathed out after the words blurted from my mouth. The look on Viv's face was like none I've seen before.

"You want to propose to Luci?" she questioned, making it sound like she disapproved. I scratch the back of my head and smile. "Yes, I can't imagine my life without her, and I want to give her the life she wants."

Viv leans in and wrapped her arms around me, I felt a drop of water fall onto my arm. I look over to her as she breaks into a sobbing mess in front of me. I tighten my arms around her for comfort and wait for the right time to talk.

"Viv, talk to me," I say while wiping the tear from her face. She looks up to me. "Arlo, thank you. You are perfect for her and I know you will look after her, because I can't anymore. I am tired, and this chemo is really taking it out of me. Arlo, I don't think I can hold on any longer. "

At this point, I'm a mess from her words, and I have no idea what to say besides "NO, no, you can't. You need to hold on a little longer, Viv. we need you."

She nodded and laid her head back on the pillow, supporting her back. "Tell me, son, how are you planning to propose?" Viv smiles as she waits for my answer, and I leave her waiting, I had no idea. "She isn't a person who likes commotion, so even if it's small and intimate, I'm sure she wouldn't mind."

Viv is right, Luci is very reserved. "Maybe where we met will propose where we met." I felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders, and I could focus more on what was happening now. Speaking with Viv helped, I just needed guidance, and that was exactly what she gave me.

We arrive home from treatment to an empty house, "Luci?" I yell out and wait for an answer. It's quiet. She must be out. "It's perfect. She isn't home, so let's get cooking. " We spend the next 3 hours cooking up a storm.

"Mm, what's that smell?" We hear a voice and look towards each other and panic, "what's going on here?" we both sigh in relief when Colin and Robert walk into the kitchen. Viv points a finger towards them." NOT for you. Now I have some valentine decorations in the garage, get them down, and go set up a picnic on the beach. "

They rushed off and did as they were told. She turned and looked at me with the biggest smirk, I burst out laughing and couldn't stop. "Thank you, Viv, I couldn't have done this without you." She placed a hand on my shoulder and kissed my cheek. "It's my pleasure."

"Ok, outside is ready, and the girls will be back soon, Lily said they should arrive at sunset." I nod at Colin and signalled for everyone to come close. "So when she gets here, I will walk her down to the beach. You will all hide till we are outside. Have a camera ready and capture the proposal. After I propose you can all jump out or you could leave us, it doesn't matter either way, I'm sure she would love to have her family around her" They all nod and run upstairs out of sight when they hear lilies car approach the house.

I waited for Luci at the back door and watched as she walked into the house so gracefully. She looked amazing. It made my heart skip a beat. As she walked to ward me, it felt like my world slowed down, and everything was in slow motion, allowing me time to look at her."

I reach my hand for hers and guide her out to the beach. "How was your day, babe? I made us a picnic dinner, come." We sit down, and I pour us some wine. After our first meal, Luci sits up on folded legs and grabs my hands. I begin to panic. Is she going to propose to me. "Arlo," she says. "I love you, and this dinner has been the most romantic thing someone has done for me. After a long day, all I wanted was to come home to you and be held all night, but I don't want just tonight. I want every night forever. "

Now I am really panicking, I had to get in before she did, it can't go like this I wanted to propose to her, even though it does feel nice having someone express themselves to you before the biggest commitment of life, But I wanted her to have the same feeling I did right now. "Luci, please stop talking." She shook her head in disbelief while looking over to me with burrowed eyebrows.

I get up on my knees to meet her eyes, "Luci, my love. I don't want one night either. I want forever, I've wanted forever since the day we met. I knew from then you were the girl for me and I want to make you the happiest woman, wife and mother. " I kneel on one knee and pull the ring box from my pocket. I looked around to see if her family were outside ready. I see Colin give me the thumbs up from the corner of my eye.

I look up towards Luci and open the box. "Will you Marry me, Luci?" she is frozen and crying. I then feel her jump at me, pushing our bodies onto the sand. She kisses me and holds me in a hug. "Omg, I love you, and tonight I'm going to rock your boat," she whispered in my ear. I could feel my face turn red. "Well?" I ask, still waiting for an answer.

Luci pulls me up to my feet, "Arlo, you can have an answer, but only when you answer mine." She pulls a box from her purse and opens it to reveal a men's ring. "Arlo, will you marry me?" I feel a tear fall from my face and her thumb wiping it away. "Yes baby, of course." Luci smiled. "100 times over YES Arlo, I will marry you."

Our family jumps out from the bushes and runs towards us, yelling and screaming, "OMG, CONGRATULATIONS." Tonight has been the most memorable night for everyone. The smile on Luci's face was one I've never seen, and I intended to keep it there. We all sat together and ate our first meal as a family and danced the rest of the night away.

After a long night, Luci walks me into the bedroom, closing the door behind us she pushes me against it and starts kissing me. Her hands are undressing me and sliding up and down my body. She leans up towards my ear and Whispers "You see doctor, I have this feeling down here- and she guides my hand between her legs, she was wet, -that won't go away, I need your help."

I let out a moan as she used my hand to rub between her legs. I slipped two fingers inside her as she moved my hand back up. "Ohh Arlo," she moans as I begin to move my fingers inside her. With her arms warped around my nec,  she throws her head back.  "I'm coming," she says. I pull my fingers out of her, "Don't come" I whisper. Lifting her from her feet, i walk over to the be,  placing her on her back. I rip open her dress and pull her panties off with my teeth, I trail my tongue between her legs and take in her sweetness.

She moans with every stroke of my tongue, her hands full with my hair as she pulls it when letting out her moans. "Ohh ye,s" she moaned,  queuing me to stop. "Why did you stop? I'm nearly there. ". I smile as I lift myself from between her legs and place a condom on, I pull her legs, bringing her hips to mine, and I thrust myself into her in one swift motion. I let out a small moan from how good she feels. She is wet and tight, and I'm about to come just by the thought of her. I begin to thrust into her a few more times before she signals. She is about to come. "Come with me, baby," I say in a husky voice.

Suddenly, she throws me to the bed and straddles me, I have full sight of my sexy fiancé and she was about to rock my world. She began bopping up and down my length, taking me all in. she quickened her motion, making me quiver under her. "Baby, come with me." Moments later, we release and fall into a cloud of pleasure and comfort. After our high, I pulled myself into her back, nuzzled my nose into her neck, and wrapped my arm around the side of her waist.
