"tears are words that need to be written"
~ Paulo CoelhoThe fourth of July, a Saturday, it was dark and it rained. We sat in his car and argument. "You don't get it!" I screamed and looked out of the window "What is the thing I don't get?!" He yelled at me, I couldn't tell him, if I would do it, it would ruin my life forever. "I can't tell you!... it's complicated and-..." "complicated?!" He interrupted me "Lilith please.. just say it! What's the fucking problem?" My dad, this word stuck on my tongue but I couldn't say It out loud "it's nothing..." I wishper, he sighs and grabbed the steering wheel tighter, he speeded up. Tears ran down my cheeks, ever since he picked me up there was something unpleasant in the air, something was wrong and now we both stucked in this car argumenting about something i can never tell a person. "Hear me out" he said but I couldn't really hear him, my sobbing was too loud and I just wanted to get out of this car. "Lilith... we can't keep argumenting..." He sighed, he was right, we both knew it. He continued "just... tell me what it is... we can find a way to get through it" he still speeded up, we were on the highway as he started to drive me home. The rain got more and we heard thunders. "Luca..." I wiped away my tears "it's not easy... its-" before I could keep going Luca took the curve too fast and we came off the road.... as I woke up I laid on the street, I was fine just a few cuts and scraped knees. I looked around and didn't saw Luca anywhere. Panic enveloped me as I slowly got up and walked around. My knees hurted but I kept trying to find him as suddenly I saw a person next to the road.
I immediately ran over to him and saw him covered in his own blood.
Lucas, no!
A loud scream left my mouth as I ran over to him and pulled him close to me as I fell on my knees. I started to scream for help and tried to stop his bleeding. It looked like he got thrown out and fell into some pieces of glass that landed deep in his stomach. Tears ran down my cheeks as I kept screaming for help. But we were alone.. no one was on the highway. Just us-No! I woke up with wet clothes and sweat ran down my forehead. Another nightmare, another memory back to the night were we lost each other. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the time. 6am, I still have over an hour to be ready, but everything feels empty. I feel empty being without him, like nothing will ever make me as happy as he made me. Although our last few minuts we had weren't the best
he yelled at me, he speeded up, he took that curve too fast, everything goes black-
No! Make it stop! I closed my eyes and tried to think of something else, someone else. As my phone ringed I slowly got up and started to get ready as my father opened the door. I was about to go in the bathroom as I looked at him "therapy at 2pm" he said cold, his voice sent a shiver down my spine. Me and my father never were so close and since this accident we talk less every day.It was Saturday, but I still had to go to the library at 7am to grab the books I need for history, as I was about to go back home I saw someone familiar sitting in one of my favorite cafés.
It was Silas, I looked around as it looked like that he noticed me. He smiled and waved at me before giving me a sign to go to him. I walk over with shaky legs, I usually don't get nervous this fast that's why I tried to calm and fiddled with my clothes. I wore dark blue jeans with a white t-shirt.
As I walked over to him I sat down in front of him and gave him a small smile. Calm down, this is not the first boy you are talking to.
"Hey" he said and had a smile on his face. A small dimple came on his left cheek, my smile grew more, he looked cute. "Hey, what are you doing here?" I said and looked around, it was a small cute café with a small reading corner.
I always came here when I borrowed a new book from the library and then read it there until they closed.
"I'm just looking around in the city and then i came here and thought i could stay here for a few minuts until i have to go back home" he said and looked at his ice coffee. "You said that you're new. Where are you from?" I said and looked at his fingers. He wore silver rings, one had a beautiful pink crystal, he shined in the light. "I lived in Texas." He said "and my dad got a new job here so we had to move" he sighs and played with his rings "oh..."
oh? "How is Texas?" I said interest, we live in a small town in Europe and to hear about that he's from the USA is quiet interesting. I always dreamed about when i'm older to visit the USA or maybe also life there.
"It's beautiful." He smiled as he looked at one of his rings, it has a little star symbol. I looked at him as he continued "it's beautiful although I sometimes hated being there. But I miss it... my friends, everyone.." he continued as his smile fade away and he sighed. I stayed in silence looking on the table. I didn't knew how to continue, he definitely missed living there. "By the way what are you doing here?" He spoke softly as he looked at me.
"I just... the books for history, I had to get them"
"so early?" He asked irritated, I nod "my day is full with appointments and other things so I had to get them so early before I maybe forget it." I almost whisper. I didn't knew why I suddenly became so quiet, I hated Saturdays, therapy was the worst thing on Saturdays, Mr. Conner always said I can open up with him but I knew if I would do that I would get in trouble. So I kept quiet, every time.
I looked at the time and saw that it already was 8am. I grabbed my things together and looked at Silas. "I'm sorry, I have to go. Maybe we can meet sometime again." I smiled and wanted to go out of the café as he spoke "I'm sorry, this comes very random right now but what about if I could get your number?... so we could maybe meet eachother sometime" he was nervous, I noticed it as he scratched the back of his head. "Sure" I smiled and wrote my number on a tissue because we had nothing else near us. "Text me later" I smiled and walked out of the café.
