"a dreamer, that's what she was."

Weeks later me and Silas arrived at my house after school. It was a very hot day and I only walked around with a skirt from Cami. I put my shoes away and immediately walked upstairs to my room. Mostly my room was the coldest in our house and in hot days like these I just loved having this room all for myself.
My father was at work until 5 so we could have our time alone. My dad doesn't even know about Silas, I've never spoke a single word about him and my father just didn't cared.
He always was at work and came home late and when he did he blamed me for forgetting about the dishes or cleaning the house. It was terrible, my father was terrible.

A few hours later me and Silas laid in my bed and played a game. I didn't exactly knew what it was called but the game simply consists to draw something on someone's back who had to guess it. His hands were so soft and gently that I easily could fall asleep. "You still here or felt asleep?" He asked and chuckles as he kept drawing something on my back. I chuckle and mumbled a reply.
As he finished drawing I sighs because his fingers stop "mhm a butterfly." "Why always a butterfly?" He asked and chuckled. "Because I like them." I smiled and looked at him "was it right?" , "No." He chuckles "you saying butterfly the third time now and it's still not right." I rolled my eyes and smiled. I couldn't really concentrate when his finger felt like a magic massage on my back.
After a few minuts I heard the front door open and heavy steps going in the kitchen. I froze. Silas looked at me and raiser an eyebrow as he noticed that something was wrong.
"Lilith, why haven't you done the dishes yet?!" I heard a familiar voice. My face got pale and k started to get nervous. It was my dad.
Usually he never comes home so early. It was only three. I looked at Silas and gave him a sign to stay there as I got up.
My steps were quiet as I slowly walked down the stairs in the kitchen. I played with my clothes and smiled softly. "I'm sorry-" "no apology Lilith. I've told you to do the dishes and take the rubbish out." His voice was cold but with a dangerous undertone. I nod and walked to the dirty plates.
"women, never can do anything." He said as he walked to his office that were downstairs right next to the kitchen.
As I heard him saying this I turned around and spoke with very much self-confident "you also could do the dishes or take the rubbish out or clean the house." I looked at him, I never spoke back to him after things like that but today was different.
He looked at me his eyes were saying something i couldn't recognize. He stepped closer his steps heavy on the ground.
"Young lady don't talk to me in that tone." He spoke dangerous.
"Why? Because it's true? Since mom died you let me do all the stuff while you are in your office the whole day when you come from work."
My tone was a little angry at hurt, I just couldn't understand why he would ignore me when he's in his office and just come out to eat. He took a few steps closer to me his eyes had a little dangerous sparkle.
"Young lady you don't talk like this to your father." He said while clenching his jaw. "Well I said it and I mean it. You know it's the truth you just don't want to accept it when you're wrong." I clenched my hand into a fist, my knuckles slowly turned white. "Be happy that you're even living with me after her death." He said angry. I looked at him as my anger turned also into sadness. Before her death he was the best father figure anyone could ever imagine but after they just fought and she got the diagnosis cancer he changed into a monster. He came even closer and was ready to grab me. I moved back and walked away from him "don't touch me!" I yelled loud at him, the dangerous sparkle in his eyes grew more and I knew with every word I would said now I could bring myself in a danger. It wouldn't be the first time that he hit me. He did it already a few times, sometimes he was drunk or he just wanted to let his anger out on someone. I looked at him, clearly scared. He just stared at me trying not to yell at me. He took some deep breathes as he suddenly said in a calm voice. "I'm glad your mother died, if she would see you like this right now she would definitely be disappointed."
That's it, tears filled my eyes and before he could see me crying I just ran upstairs back in my room were Silas cleary heard some things.
"Are you okay?" He spoke as he saw me trying to hide my tears in front of him. "It's fine." I said and played with my curls as I looked at him. He raised an eyebrow "Lilith I heard most of the things and you definitely don't look fine." He said, his voice sounded something like worried.
"No it's fine." I said and tried to hide my tears that slowly fell down my cheeks. "Lilith..." Silas spoke in a soft but comforting voice. "Silas please, I said it's fine okay" I spoke a bit louder hoping that my father wouldn't hear me. He just stared at me before he silently nod. He wanted to say something I knew it because he bite his under lip to not say it out loud. I sighed and sat back down on the bed next to him. "No matter what you heard please keep it for yourself."
"What Lilith... why?" He pulled me a little closer. My face got pale and I played with my ring "my father..." I sighed "he's a monster."
"I heard it but why don't you talk about it. Go to whoever can help you with that." He said as he again pulled me closer so my head rested against his chest. I immediately felt his warmth and felt already comforted. "He doesn't even know you're here if he finds out a single soul heard or saw what he's doing then it won't end good for both of us. He's a monster you can't trust him. No one knows what he could do next and that makes him dangerous." I said and wiped away my tears on my cheeks. Silas just caressed my back and looked down at me. He gave me a feeling that i don't really know how to describe it. It feels like he wants to give me comfort and warmth. Like he's trying to stay with me and help me.
