"we'll never be those kids again"
~ Frank Ocean"Are you okay?" Silas asked me as we sat in the cafeteria. I stared outside thinking about something I suddenly couldn't remeber.
"Sorry, what did you say?" I looked at him as the corners of his mouth turned up slightly. "I asked if you're alright. you behave so differently today, is something wrong?"
"I'm alright, don't worry" I smiled at him and looked back outside. It has been one week since we met in the café and since then we often text or hang out in the café or outside the cafeteria.
Today was the hottest day in the week, and I wore a crop top with a big blue flower on it. It was the exact same flower as on the ring Silas gave me. I looked outside seeing the leaves change their colors. It was almost the end of September and the beginning of October, the beginning of the cold seasons.
"Any plans after school?" Silas ate his food and looked up at me.
I shaked my head and looked at him. We smiled at each other
"We could go to the park." He looked at me and smiled more.
"Of course." I answered and looked at the time, we still had history and maths left. I sighed, I hated maths. I was good in almost every subject except maths, I don't know why but somehow hates me Mrs. Adams, my math teacher since I came here. I don't even get why she hates me, she's friendly to everyone except me, since I accidentally felt asleep in her lesson ones. After class me and Silas walked togheter to the bus stop, although Silas could have walked home from school because he doesn't live far away, but he wanted to accompany me. I smiled as we stood a few meters next to the bus stop, we talked about some unnecessary things and laughed together about some jokes Silas made, as my bus came. I smiled and got in the bus as I waved at him. He waved back and started to walk home as my bus drove away. I smiled and looked out of the window.
As I arrived at home, I immediately walked upstairs to my room and closed the door. I walked over to my computer and opened it, i'm sitting since over a month on a story I just can't continue and I don't even know why, it gets boring in the middle and sometimes it is too fast but also the characters doesn't even really match like I first thought they should. I looked at the few chapters I started but never continued, next to the chapters were a few notes that I had written down to maybe get more ideas but nothing helped, the notes didn't matched the situation they were in right now. I sighed, I always dreamed about to write a story I'd truly love but no story I've written really got me. Although I keep them all for me I sometimes wished someone could read them and give me an opinion. I looked at the time as I just started to write a few more things that didn't really matched the situation.
After a few hours I closed the computer and looked on my phone. I had two missed calls and one message from Silas.
Silas: meet me at the bus stop at 6pm
I stared at the message for a few minuts before I looked at the time 10 minuts before 6pm. Shit, I wouldn't make it at time. I grabbed my jacket and ran down the stairs outside. The bus stop was almost 10 minutes away but I always go so slow that it took for me 15 minuts. I kept running down the streets and looked at my phone. Silas would probably already wait there, I sighed and ran faster.
As I arrived at the bus stop I took a deep breath and looked around, Silas sat on the bank under the small bus stop house. He smiled at me and as he saw how exhausted I was from running he chuckled.
I walked over to him and sat down next to him "why did you wanna meet so late? And how did you came here?" I looked at the street, he didn't really knew where I lived or where the nearest bus stop from me was. "I thought about maybe we could hang out and since you ignored me for almost two hours I thought you were busy." He said and looked at me. "I was writing, I'm sorry. My phone was muted." I smiled and looked back at him.
"It's okay don't worry, what is the story about?" He looked at me as he wanted to know every single detail of the story. I sighed and stared back to the streets as I fiddled with my clothes. "It's about a girl.." I started "she lost her father when she was young, he was the one which she looked up at. They both had a great communication. But then the father died and the girl was heartbroken. As her mother started to date a new guy, the girl didn't wanted to except it, to except that her mother already was over the death and to except that from now on she'll have a new father. The girl was heartbroken but as the man lived with the mother and her they both started to get close and to find out that they have the same preferences and...." I thought bsout how the story would end, I never though of an ending in this story because mostly I ruin storys with another unexpected heartbreaking plottwist. "I don't have a ending, maybe they all gonna be a happy family or the man will leave them." I sighed, the storys always described how close I always wanted to be with my father, I wanted to make funny memories with him and having some movie nights, but nothing of that will ever happen.
Silas looked at me without any emotion.
Did he liked the idea?
Probably not.
"When can I read it?" He asked. I was caught off by his question that my ears turned red, I got nervous. "Never... no one will every read one of them." I looked at the flower ring on my finger. "But why not?"
"Because I like to keep them for myself and mostly the ending is ruin the whole story." I sighed, I'll never show people my storys because every single of them describes a piece of my life. We looked at each other as he sighed quietly.
"Come with me." He said and got up. I was confused and looked at him as he hold out his hand to take it. "Where?" I looked at him confused.
"You will see, just trust me." He smiled softly, I sighed and grabbed his hand. The sun slowly stared to sink and the moon to raise. Me and Silas walked around as we arrived on a meadow, I looked around, irritated what he wanted here. "What are we doing here?" I asked and looked at him as he laid down in the grass. "Just trust me" he smiled and looked up. "Lay down next to me."
I looked at him as I also slowly laid down on the grass and looked up at the sky as I noticed it. The stars.
I smiled and looked at every star as I recognized some constellations.
"They're beautiful..." I smiled and looked at Silas, he didn't looked up at the sky. He looked at me. "Glad you like it." He smiled and this time he also looked up. We laid there for a few minuts minuts and just admired the sky. I was so calm and just kept staring at the sky that I didn't noticed that I was slowly laying my head on his chest. His warmth was comforting, comforting in a way I never have felt before. Not with Luca, my friends or anyone else. It was a new feeling I couldn't describe. He looked down at me and smiled. I kept looking at the stars, enjoying his warmth and the view.
