My Daughter

My breath, my oxygen and  my life
The person that keeps my fire alive
The star that leaves a twinkle in my eye
The treasure I see at the end of a tide

My daughter
A generous soul
A person's whose laughter never gets old
A person whose jokes make me laugh
A person who keeps me a float just like a raft

The first day we met
You couldn't open your eyes
But one day I saw them and they shined bright
In the next months, you were learning to walk

Everytime you fumbled, I would laugh
But you stood up back, unleashing your wrath

I will never forget when you started to grow teeth
You would eat everything that was in reach

Ten years came by in a flash
I watched my little baby grow up just like that
She started stealing my makeup, and my clothes
So all my stuff was always scratted on the floor

They say a picture holds a thousand words
But a thousand words can't express what I have to say
I hope my words don't go unheard
Because all my emotions are on display

You occupy my mind both day and night
You  will always be the light at the end of my tunnel, shining bright

You consume my prayers every night,
I would say
Dear lord please protect the one I love
Be the light guiding her when times get ruff
Be the other drivers when she's on the road
Be her path and her designation
Keep her safe because one day she'll rule the nation
