Unfold:Chapter 4

The next morning, Lex and Terri get dressed and go out for breakfast. They eat in at a diner near the hotel.

They walk in and seat themselves. When they look over the menu and decide on what they want, they summon a waitress.

"Hi, my name is Mia. I'll be serving you today. Can I start off by getting you guys a drink?" she says without looking at them.

Lex looks up, puzzled. "Mia?"

"Alexis? What .. are you doing on this side of town?" Mia asks.

"Oh, uh we're just passing through.. I didn't know you worked here." Lex says, quickly glancing up at Terri and back at Mia.

"My dad owns the diner, I work here sometimes.. I could use the extra money." Mia answers.

Lex clears her throat. "Well, this is my best friend Terri, Terri this is Mia."

They briefly shake hands.

"Nice to meet you." Mia says.

Terri mutually agrees by nodding her head. She looks back down at the menu. "I'll have a sweet tea, please."

Mia jots it down in her notebook. "And for you?" She looks at Lex.

Lex takes a minute to answer.. "Uh, I'll take a strawberry lemonade."

Mia smiles and walks back into the kitchen to fix their drinks.

"Terri! That's her! That's Mia." Lex whispers across the table.

"Yeah, I peeped.. I see why Ken is tripping. This one's actually cute." Terri says.

Lex laughs sarcastically. "So what are you trying to say?"

Mia comes back to the table with their drinks.

"Oh, nothing." Terri says, sipping her tea. "Nothing at all."

"Are you guys ready to order?" Mia asks.

Lex picks up the menu. "Yes. I think I'll try the Belgian chicken and waffles."

Terri orders a breakfast biscuit, with a side of grits.

As they sit and wait for their food, someone in the diner turns on the tv.

The accident that went down at the club last night is all over the news.

"Lex, look!" Terri says, pointing up at the tv screen.

She looks up, "Oh fuck!"

The news reporter is stating how the victim of the accident, Kenya, is still alive and in critical condition. But the details are not to be released to the public.

He also gives a description of Lex, issuing a warrant for her arrest. "There is no knowledge of the second suspect" He says.

Apparently, no one knows it was Terri because she never got out of the car.

Lex was the only who fled the scene that could be identified.

"Lonnie is the only one that knows who I am, I know he went to the police!" Lex tells Terri.

They call Mia back to the table and tell her they've decided to take their food to go. Before they walk out of the diner, Mia slips a piece of a napkin in Lex's pocket.

It has her number written on it with a note that says.. "Just in case (:"

Lex and Terri hurry back to the hotel to figure out what they're gonna do. To duguise her appearance, Lex dyes her hair and wears a baggie hoodie.
