Unfold:CH5:Pt2

They sneak into the parking lot and say their goodbyes. Mia sits in her car and waits for them to pull off. She quickly writes something down and then takes off in the opposite direction.

Lex and Terri head back to Terri's place.

On the way there, Lex turns to Terri and suggests that they split up.

"Maybe we shouldn't stay together. They're looking for me.. If they catch us together you could get arrested for harboring a fugitive."

Terri looks at her, "Lex I can't just leave you..Whether I wanna be or not, we're in this shit together. And by the way, something isn't right about that girl. She's trouble, I can sense it. I think you need to cut that off, quick."

Lex feels obligated to come to Mia's defense. "What? No. She's no trouble, she's a sweet girl."

Terri squints her eyebrows, "uh, right. I just don't get how she had so much to say to you in front of me.. But once she got you alone, she tries to seduce you?"

Lex takes a minute to respond.

"She just likes me, a lot. And I actually like her back. There's something about this one Terri."

Terri laughs "Alright, whatever. It's your call, but something ain't sitting right with me. You said that same shit about Kenya. The bitch is crazy as hell."

"Well Terri.. I trust her, and you trust me, so we'll just have to see how this plays out." Lex says, with confidence in Mia's character.

When they arrive at Terri's house, they order food and talk about what they have planned for the upcoming day. After they finish eating, Terri says goodnight and goes to her bedroom.

Lex showers in the guest bath and claims the couch to sleep on for the night.

Around 1am, only a few hours later.. Lex is awakened by a loud banging on the front door.

"Police! Open up!"

Lex jumps up and runs into Terri's room.

"Terri, get up! The police are at the door. I told you they'd find us!" Lex panics.

Terri climbs out of the bed, yawning and rubbing her eyes."Okay Calm down. We got this."

She creeps over to the front of the house and peaks out of the window. There's a tall black officer standing on the porch. "Open the door or I'll open it for you." he yells out.

Terri turns to Lex and whispers. "Alright, look.. There's a hidden door in the back of my closet in the bathroom. Hide there and don't come out. I'll handle him." Terri escorts Lex halfway to the bathroom.

She waits a few seconds to make sure Lex can't be seen when she goes to open the door.

"Terri Henderson?" The officer says as she opens the door.

"Yes sir, what is it?" She answers, looking directing into his eyes.

"Ma'am we have an anonymous caller who reported your plates at the scene of a crime. May I come inside?"

Terri opens the door wide enough for him to step through. "Yeah, c'mon in."

Terri sits down on the couch. "I don't understand, what crime would this be, officer?" She gestures him to sit.

"I'll stand. A young woman was hit by a vehicle outside of a club on Friday night and your license plate was given." He crosses his arms and looks at her for a response. "Can you address your whereabouts that night around 11?"

Terri looks straight into his eyes, and she lies.

"There must be some mistake sir, I don't know of any clubs around here and I was present at work Friday night. I can give you a number for my alibi." She says calmly.

"I'm gonna need you to come down to the precinct when daylight hits ma'am. If you leave town, you'll be pursued as the prime suspect and I will find you and arrest you for attempted murder." He rests his hands on his gun. "You'll be questioned at the station and if your alibi checks out, you will be released."

"Yes sir." Terri responds.

The officer'eyes start to wonder around the house.. "May I take a look around?" he asks politely.

"Yeah sure, when you bring me a warrant." Terri hisses. She walks to the door to let him out. "I'll be down at the station in the morning. Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to get back to sleep."

The officer leaves and Terri slams the door behind him. Twisting all the locks. She lets out a sigh of relief and watches as he gets back into his car.

She runs to the back to get Lex.

"Lex! He's gone.. Someone at Kaymen's reported my car. I have to go to the station in a few hours." Terri says with worried eyes.

Lex comes out of the bathroom. "What?? How is that possible.. And why are they reporting it so late? That's fishy.. This is why we should split up Terri. If they find both of us, they'll put two and two together."

"Okay, okay." Terri agrees. "But where are you gonna go?"

"I'll just go stay with Mia. She can't be too far from here."

Terri gives Lex an ugly facial expression. "Eh, I'd much rather go to prison. I don't trust her."

Lex frowns. "Really!? She isn't who you think she is. You don't even know her Terri. Besides, I'm worried Kenya will find her. At least we'll be together if she does."

"And you do? All you did was sleep with her! You don't know her life story Lex. You need to be careful." Terri climbs back in bed. "Whatever.. Just keep a close eye and call me if something strange happens. I'll take you over there tomorrow after I leave the station."

"Thank you. I really appreciate it, you'll thank me in the end. And don't mention anything if those cops interrogate you." Lex replies.

"Yeah yeah, go to sleep." Terri gets under the covers and turns the light off.

Lex walks back into the living room and lays back down on the couch. She falls asleep after a few minutes of thinking about everything.

When she wakes up, Terri is already gone. She left a note for Lex in the kitchen.

".. If I'm not back by noon, don't panic. Call Mia and I'll contact you when I can. Whatever happens, we're in this togther.. And remember what I told you. -Terri."
