The way YOU saved ME

finally peace found me

I heard steps downstairs and headed down right away. 

Isa promised to be her a bot after me and I was just happy to see her. She was my favorite person. My happy person. 

And so I was smiling when I came down just for my smile to die when I saw Marc standing in the hallway. 

"What are you doing here?", I said, staying kind of frozen on the stairs.

"I wanted to apologize.", he said, his voice teary "I know I have fucked up and I don't deserve your forgiveness. But Isa called me. She told me about you two getting married.".

"She called you?", I couldn't suppress the jealousy that shot right through my body. I knew, I fucking knew she wouldn't leave me and still Marc was the one that could break my confidence by just being here.

"Yes. But all she talked about was you. She called me because of you. And to make clear she doesn't want anything from me. She loves you. And she just called me because we are family and she has hopes that I will change and be a better brother from now on.", he said "Alex, I know I fucked it up. But I want to make up for what I did. I called mom and told her about the marriage. She will come, without dad. And if you don't want me there, I won't be. I just want you to be happy and I see how happy you are since you are here. How free you are. It shows on the track as well.", he smiled a bit "I just want to be part of your life. If you still want me in it.".

"You are my brother.", I said "Of course I want you with me. But you... you did...".

"I know what I did and no apology can make up for it. I can't do anything to take that back but... Alex, I am so sorry. I overreacted. I had no right. I know that.".

"Then why did you do all that?", I slowly moved down from the stairs, nodding him over to walk into the kitchen with me.

"Because I was jealous.", he said openly "I tried to be with her but it wouldn't work. She never wanted me. She never felt that way for me she does feel for you now. It's a hard pill to swallow if you always get what you want.", he admitted "But she loves you. So so much.".

"And I love her.", I said and couldn't suppress the stupid smile on my face.

"I can tell.", he said, smiling back "You have never looked that happy before.".

"She is amazing. I swear to god she is.", and I was so happy to finally share this with him. God how I had needed that. How I had needed my brother to talk to. I mean the ranch boys were always ready to talk with me about anything. But it was different to talk about Isa to them than it would be to Marc. I mean she was like a sister to all of them. I couldn't talk to them about how she was in bed.

"Tell me.", he said, as he settled down on the dining table.

I walked over to the coffee machine, looking at him questioningly, he simply nodded.
And so I started to make us coffee while finally being able to talk to my brother about the girl I loved so much. I was finally able to feel like we talked on the same height. It wasn't him looking down on me but it was an eye to eye talk.

And we talked for hours. 

We talked so long that at some point I got a call from a very worried Isa who anxiously asked if we were both alive. She had been really worried and was relieved to hear we were both good. She made us come up to the ranch where Vale was making a big barbeque for everyone. He had said it was ok to bring Marc, so I brought my brother up there.

To the second part of my new home.

Yes the house of Enzo and Eli would be our home soon but until then the ranch was our home and it really felt like it. I felt at home whenever I got up here.
