Jake's POV:

Months gone by,
Everyone getting accused,
Not being able to trust anyone,
No one is safe,
Not even us.

"Jake.. they won't find out, right?.."

I turn my head to look towards Johnnie.
He was bitten by one of them, a month ago.
I had promised to keep him safe from everyone.
We were both hiding in my attic.
Hiding from everyone, who wants to take him.
I've been letting him feed off my blood.
I felt weak, but I didn't let that stop me from protecting him.

"They won't. Not when im around."
I said while looking up at the window.

"And if they get me and the sun goes down? And if they get me, take this spike and you put the spike in my heart.."

"W-what?! Johnnie, you're insane!"

"Why don't you get me to a doctor? Or get me to a church? Somewhere they can pump this venom gaping hole."
He turned to look at me,
his pale skin,
his dusty blue eyes,
his razor sharp white teeth.
"Will it wash away this jet black feeling, and this venom in my heart? Please save my soul, tonight."

"Johnnie... do you even know what you are saying right now?!"

"They're going to find us eventually."

"I'll never let them hurt you, not tonight.
I promise."

I grabbed his hands.
We looked at each other's eyes.
"These thoughts of endless nights, bring us back into the light."
I whispered while maintaining eye contact.

"Will it fill our hearts with thoughts of endless night time sky?"
Johnnie whispered back.

The sun had set.
It was now midnight.
The hour Johnnie would take my blood.
Rain began to pour.
Droplets of water, hitting down on the window.
Thunder striking down.
It was only,
Me and Johnnie,
Johnnie and me.

No one could disturb us.
We were both safe in here.
Safe from everyone.

"I feel like I can't go on like this, Jake..
Can you stake my heart?"

"Johnnie..."
My eyed began to fill with tears. He's been asking that since it first happened. He knew I would never do that to him, but he kept asking.

I pulled him in for a deep hug,
"I'll never do that to you, Johnnie. Never."

"I know... but someday, you'll have to do it.. someday..."
