Johnnie's POV:
———————————————————————

"Johnnie, we will be assigning you a new partner." The boss told me. We were sitting in the meeting area, where the boss had called me in, earlier this morning.

"What?! Why?" I argued back.

"You know why. It was a mistake to sign you up with Carrington." The boss pinched the bridge of his nose as he talked.

"It's not even my fault! Carrington is the one that's always fooling around!"

"I don't want to hear it. Plus, this is a new guy so he will definitely be perfect for you to partner with. I'll send him up to your office in a bit." The boss stood up from his chair and began making his way towards the glass door. "I don't want this to continue as a problem for any of us."

With that being said, the boss walked out, leaving me alone. I let out a frustrated groan as I stood up and my way towards the door. It wasn't my fault! Non of this was my fault! It was their fault, not mine. He was responsible for failing all the missions we were assigned.

I stepped in the elevator and pressed the button of the floor where my office was. After a while I stepped out the elevator and made my way towards the door of my office. I opened and was met with a guy with black shaggy hair. His arms were covered of colorful tattoos and you could tell that he's been working out.

He turned his head and greeted me with a smile. "Hey! You must be Johnnie." He got out of his chair and stuck his hand out for me to shake. I looked at him then his hand and back at him. I ignored it and walked past him and sat down on my chair.

"Yep. Who the hell are you." I said as I began to light up and cigarette.

"I'm Jake. I was told that I was going to be your partner."

I froze for a moment but decided to not let it bother me. "Mhm. Have you work in anything like this?" I asked, trying to compose myself to not freak out.

"No. I mean- yeah, no." He sat back down on his chair and stared straight me awkwardly, waiting for my answer.

"So what made you want to work in something like this."

"The hell is this? Twenty questions?" He asked in a sassy tone. I let out a low growl, clearly not enjoying the way he had responded to me.

"I just wanted to know, geez." I said as I rolled my eyes. I burnt out my cigarette and got in to a more comfortable position. I grabbed a folder and passed it on his desk. He looked at me confused, causing me to let out a groan. "Seriously? You don't even know what you're supposed to do?"

I got up from my chair and walked towards him. "These are files. Each file has information of different people, and what they do. You're gonna need to sort them each out in categories." I opened it and took out the first page. "He's a drug dealer so you're going to add him in the drug category. This one's a murderer so you add him in the murderer category. It really easy. But it can be tiring. You'll type each of their names on the computer where it has the category and you'll write what kinds of stuff they've done besides their name."

I looked at him, waiting for him to start typing but instead he just sat there, staring blankly at the computer. "I don't know how to log in." I groaned and opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out a sheet of paper. "There's all your information." I pointed to it. He nodded and thanked me as I walked back to my desk.

I then heard typing noises, letting me know that he was finally working. "I'll be back in a second." I quickly got up from my chair and began to head out my office door. I walked towards the other side of the floor, towards where the coffee place was. I got hold of two hot cups and began making my way back to my office.
