Megan
"Stop that." Megan hissed from her place behind the desk, staring at the papers in her hands but not really seeing anything. They were currently in her other club, the one no one knew about except the other patrons and now Nik.
"What?" Nik asked, feigning confusion, and Megan could already picture the smirk on his face without even having to look up.
"Staring. I can't concentrate," she said as she looked up. And, just like she thought, Nik was smirking. The man stood up from the little sofa in the corner of Megan's office and walked until he was standing behind her, squeezing Megan's shoulders for a second before letting his hands travel further down her front, stopping just an inch away from her pants.
"So, what you are saying is that I distract you," Nik whispered as he pressed his nose into Megan's neck, inhaling her scent before planting a small kiss there.
"Please, not here. I'm at work." Megan said as she quickly stood up, leaving Nik to stand there.
"Work? The same work where you have sex on an almost regular basis in front of people? That work?" Nik said, his voice growing cold as he stared at Megan.
"I'm sorry, Nik. I just... I'm not ready for anyone to find out, okay? This is still new to me; it's barely been two weeks, and I just need some time."
Nik looked away for a moment, his fists clenching and unclenching before shortly nodding his head in acceptance.
He knew Megan was right. They had been seeing each other, or whatever this thing between them was, for barely two weeks.
He knew Megan was having a hard time, what with finding out about her past and realizing the root of her commitment problems.
Nik's blood still boiled whenever he remembered everything Lieutenant O'Neill had revealed about the ranch and Megan's biological parents and the treatment all kids went through.
Megan had been just a child then, still unaware of the world as a whole, and to personally witness what happened to those who defied her father must have traumatized her.
"Thank you," Megan whispered, looking at her feet with a sad frown on her face. Nik sighed, cursing himself for acting so harshly, before walking over to where she was standing and pulling her into a hug.
"I'm sorry. I understand, and I'll wait as long as you need."
Megan smiled and then pecked him before quickly stepping away and returning to her seat behind the desk.

"Stay with me tonight?" Megan said once they came up for air. They were lying together on the sofa in Megan's living room, trying to watch a movie but not really succeeding since Nik kept pulling her into a kiss every five minutes. By that point, Megan wasn't even sure what they had been watching in the first place.
Nik looked at her for a moment before slowly nodding.
"Okay, I just..."
"You just need to go and change in private so I don't see your leg." Megan interrupted, already knowing what would come out of Nik's mouth, although Nik would not have said it so bluntly.
The man stood up, turning his back to Megan, his back so rigid that Megan wondered how it didn't snap. She felt terrible for mentioning it, knowing that it was a sore subject for Niklas. They had never talked about it, but it quickly became quite clear to Megan that Nik felt really insecure since he never took off his jeans when they were together, not even during their hot and heavy sessions.
And as much as she wanted to let Nik come to her when he was ready, she was starting to feel bad about the whole thing. Did Nik think so little of her that he thought Megan would run away screaming at the sight of his stump?
Well, she did make an ass of herself when she saw it that one time on Nik's first day on the job, but that was just from shock. She didn't even know that Nik was an amputee, so when she walked in on him, she unfortunately reacted the way she did. But that didn't mean that she found him lacking or unattractive because of it.
Megan just needed to convince him of that, and that would only happen if they talked.
Megan sighed and stood up, walking toward Nik's tense form, wrapping her arms around his waist and leaning her forehead on his back.
"I'm sorry. I just want you to feel completely comfortable with me, and that means letting me see your leg. I like you; you are the only man I ever really liked, and that won't change no matter what, especially not because of your stump. You are fucking gorgeous, with or without two full legs."
Nik snorted, turning around and wrapping his arms around Megan as he shook his head.
"Quite a poet, aren't you?"
"I try."
They both laughed before Megan rose up to kiss him.
"Come," she whispered, taking Nik's hand in hers and dragging him into her room. She pulled her shirt off as soon as they entered, unbuttoning her jeans and taking them off, deciding to just go about her routine as she usually would and not give importance to Nik, who was slowly doing the same.
"You want some PJ, or do you prefer sleeping in just your boxers?" she asked, looking up from the drawer where she kept her nightwear to find Nik sitting at the foot of the bed in just his underwear, his metal leg glinting at the moonlight. Megan let herself look at it for just a second before her eyes traveled back to the man's face, a small smile on her face as she did so.
"Boxers," Nik mumbled, and Megan nodded, closing the drawer without taking anything else out and walking to bed before climbing in.
"Well? Are you planning on sleeping there, or are you going to join me?"
Nik snorted, throwing a mock glare in Megan's direction, to which she just smiled a toothy smile before he slowly reached down and pulled his leg and sock off.
He sat like that for a moment or too, his shoulders tense, but this time Megan said nothing, just waited. She heard Nik sigh before the man pulled himself further into the bed and laid down next to Megan.
"Hi," Megan said as the man finally looked at her, making Nik smile.
"Hi."
"Would you look at that, still hot..." Megan said, making Nik laugh out loud before he pulled her into his arms and kissed her breathless.
"Smartass."

Megan's eyes snapped open as she felt something wrap around her throat. Her eyes widened when she saw Nik kneeling over her, his hands wrapped around her throat, making it impossible to breathe. Megan scrambled around, her vision blurring as she tried to throw Nik away from her, but his grip was too strong.
Megan hit him then, slapping him across the face once and then again, desperate to get away as she was slowly starting to lose consciousness.
And somehow, it worked. Nik's eyes cleared as if waking up from a dream, and as soon as he realized what he was doing, he jumped away from Megan as if burned, leaving her coughing and struggling to breathe.
Megan sat up and looked up to see Nik was sitting frozen, his eyes wide as he stared at her, his body shaking.
"Nik?" Megan whispered and then winced as pain pierced through her sore throat.
"I... I am so sorry. I am so sorry, Megan." the man said, scooting away and quickly snatching his leg and pulling it on before getting up.
"I am so sorry," he whispered, his eyes full of tears, and then he was gone, rushing out of the room before Megan could so much as get a word out.
By the time she finally came to herself and went after him, Nik was gone, the lights of his car vanishing into the darkness as he drove away, leaving Megan to stand at the doorway of her house, staring after him.
