Truth Or Die?

I gulped down the fruity liquid as I listened to various conversations going around. Dancing, singing, drinking, making out.
I don't feel like I should be here. Something about this makes me uneasy. But I only came to this party because my friends did.
But I'd rather be at home reading or just relaxing. Not this, this isn't my jam.
The amount of boys I've rejected tonight is unbelievable. And the drunk ones scaring the living soul out of me.
If this is what senior parties look like then I wanna be a junior.
But in the end, I did this to myself. I could have said no, but here I am. Right now it was 9 pm.
I told my parents I'd be home before twelve.
More of a "You better be home before twelve"
But in a soft, respectful way.

I grabbed a salty treat from the table, the music started slowing down. The host Mabel climbed onto the coffee table.

"Everyone gather around, for some truth or dare"

A game of truth or dare?

"Come on, Astrid" MacKenzie yelled into my year pulling me towards the circle.
"Is everyone ready? Remember it's just a game. So no fighting or anything that involves violence.
I looked around at everyone sitting in the circle. At least no one here looks sober.

"I'll go first" MacKenzie looked around with a sinister look on her face.
"Jared, truth or dare"

The boy thought for a second. "Dare"

"Okay, this is an easy one. I dare you to change one piece of clothing with someone else."

Jared chuckled, he pointed to a boy's kicks. They switched their shoes.
"Okay," Jared rubbed his hands together.
"Amelia, truth or dare?"

"... Dare"

"I dare you to do a TikTok dance"

"But I can't dance"

Everyone moaned. She chuckled nervously. And started dancing like a fish that was choking. Before throwing it back.

"What the!" someone yelled. Jared's eyes went wide. "Forget this, I'm out!" everyone burst out laughing. Amelia settled back down on her spot, and a few clapped.

".. Hmm... Matt, truth or dare?"

"Did you ever want to kiss someone but didn't"

"... No"

"Well, that's a bummer. Most of us wouldn't mind if you happened to kiss us"
She's confident.
But she isn't wrong.
"Okay your turn"

Matt looked at me dead in the eyes.

Shit

"Truth or dare Astrid?"

"Dare"

"I dare you to go home"

I looked at him, was he being serious or joking? The room was extremely silent. Wait this can't be real. How embarrassing. But me not being much of a person to give up. I stood up, and everyone watched.

"You're joking?" Mabel asked.

"No"

Well, that's my cue. I couldn't say I was bummed out. At least I get to go home earlier.

I walked down the empty streets. I wonder what all that was about. Does he hate me, like I've never even done anything wrong to him? I stopped at a red light looking left and right before crossing the road.

I opened the door with the spare keys I took with me. The house was dark and silent. I looked in the fridge for something to eat. I took a cone and scooped some ice cream. I made my way up to my room. Switching the light on. Well, what a night. I put on my pajamas. Closed the windows, and snuggled in under my blankets. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
