The time came where Lynn would have to tutor Clyde in music theory. Why did she offer? She hadn't expected him to agree. If Lynn was struggling in a subject and someone offered her help she would have been too proud to accept it. Maybe it was a different attitude here. Lynn was doing it for free of course, but isn't that what friends do?
Clyde's parents owned a decently sized town house with two floors and a loft. Lynn rung the doorbell and a young girl answered the door, she looked no more than ten. "I am here to see Clyde, is he in?" Lynn said in the most non-intimidating voice she could.
"CLYDE A GIRL IS HERE TO SEE YOU!" the tiny girl yelled at the top of her lungs. Lynn was shocked, the yell that left her mouth was much deeper than what you expect from a child. She sounded almost like a late teenager.
Clyde appeared at the door and Lynn tried to straighten her expression from the young girl. When they stood next to each other it was clear that they were siblings. The brown hair, the eyes and their expressive faces where the same.
Clyde invited her in and led her through the ground floor of the house where his mum and dad greeted her. They all seemed unnormal happy for a Tuesday afternoon. He headed up stairs and Lynn followed not exactly sure where he was taking her. Clyde had been upstairs cleaning his room/work space when the door bell rang, he thought that his room had been cleaner right now than it had been in the past year.
They took up the two prepared chairs at the desk and Lynn pulled out her music theory notes from all the classes she had attended so far. They were dense so didn't take up much paper, she also pulled out the textbook.
Clyde seemed like he needed general revision on everything thing so Lynn spent two hours recapping everything that they had learnt this year, which was useful for her as well since she had not been there.
Clyde's mother did poke her head in, trying not to be noticed but Lynn knew.
Once they finished, Lynn got up to leave. They agreed to continue next Tuesday and Lynn walked home.
