The next morning Jaden wakes up with his red phone ringing. Jaden picks up his phone from the side of him. "Hello?" Jaden yawns. "Jaden!! Today is the Duel Monsters Tournament for celebrating 20 years of Duel Academy!" Syrus' voice screeches through the phone. "You over slept Jay," Syrus says. "Yeah, Okay. Ill be there shortly. Bye." Jaden clicks the "hang up" button on his phone. Jaden drops his phone on the bed and rolls off his bed onto the floor wrapped in a cocoon of his blanket. "You better get moving Jaden, Alexis will be at the tournament." Yubel appears sitting on Jaden's bed.
Yubel's POV
Jaden got moving towards the main duel field arena where the previous major duels took place. Dr. Crowler and the Chancellor stood on the duel field while the seats were full of the Duel Academy students. Jaden sat next to Atticus and Alexis, In front of Hassleberry and Syrus and behind Bastion, Chazz, Aster and Zane. "So whats with this surprise tournament anyway?" Jaden asks. Chazz turns toward Jaden. "Its to celebrate Duel Academy's 20 Years of business or something dumb like that." Chazz turns back around.
Dr. Crowler puts the microphone up to his mouth. "Welcome students to the 20 Year Anniversary of Duel Academy! For this we will hold a special tournament and the team that wins will receive one wish. Thats reasonable, of course. The rules are simple really. You and one other person pair up into a team. Day one will be the first 50 team duels. Day two will be the next 50 duels then Day three will finish the team duels. Then on day four the remaining 75 teams will compete to each other. Once you have chosen a partner you and your partner come see the Chancellor and he will assign your day to duel for the first time as a team."
I hope Jaden pairs up with Alexis, and doesn't mess this up.
Normal POV
Jaden looks at Aster. "So Aster, who's your partner gonna be?" Jaden asks. "Me and Zane plan to team up." Aster says. "We will be unbeatable." Zane smirks. "Not when i beat you!" Jaden smiles. "I'm teaming up with Bastion." Chazz says. "That's a smart move Chazz. Other wise Bastion would crush you again." Atticus laughs. "Not funny Atticus." Chazz lowers his head. "Hey sis you wanna team up?" Atticus asks. "I don't know." Alexis shrugs. "Jaden." Syrus fixes his glasses. "Wanna team up?" Syrus asks. "Hmmm." Jaden thinks. "Ill team up with Syrus, and Alexis you can join your boyfriend." Atticus laughs. Jaden and Alexis look at each other. "Alright then, we all got our teams. Let's see which of us win it all!" Jaden stands up in his seat. "It will be me and Aster." Zane says. "Ill take you down Zane!" Atticus says. A smile wipes across Jaden's face. "This tournament will be sweet!"
Jaden's POV
All of us registered our teams and we all got the "Rules" sheet.
Rule 1: Each duel each team will share 4000 Lifepoints
Rule 2: No sharing of strategy, only share cards that are in play
Rule 3: For the first turn of the duel nobody can attack the other team directly
Rule 4: No Cheating
Rule 5: Have Fun
Rule 6: Try your best
Man this tournament will be great. Me and Alexis got the first tag duel tomorrow against a couple obelisks. It will be a piece of cake. Syrus and Atticus duel later on Day One. Aster and Zane duel on Day Two with Bastion and Chazz. Hassleberry says he registered by himself on the tournament so he is solo against a tag team and he duels on Day Three. I hope Hassleberry knows what he is doing.
