Chapter Forty-Five:

Deep into the Mountains

"You've miss one day again..." she said as soon as I came.

"Sorry." All I could say and then I look around only to see that we're not inside the enchanted world of her Nymph friend.

"She's not here again." she answered as if she read my mind.

"Oh, fine." I replied.

Silence. I couldn't even think of what conversation we need to start talking since that we both hiding secrets and all we can do is to stare at the beautiful sights of the mountains and just talks about everything under the sun. Anything that takes our curiosity but we never talk about us. Not even once and I won't deny it anymore to myself, I badly wanted to know more of her. Her name, where did she live, what she's doing and everything about her! Yet I don't know how I start asking her and I don't know if she will answer each of my questions. Or if so, will be ever be the same once our secrets reveal? That question always comes as an end, ending me not to ask anything of her private life.

"What now?" she suddenly asked that breaks the silence.

I secretly swallow to clear my throat first before I said something that will probably start a good conversation.

"What do you want to do now?" I asked but to my surprised her face looks bitter.

"Lame." She suddenly replied.

"What?" I surprisingly reacted.

She sat at the huge rock and intently looks at me. "Aren't you curious about my personality? Of who am I?" she straightly asked the question that I badly wanted to ask. "Because if I were in your position, I would definitely pester you just to get to know you better."

"To tell you honestly," I decided to tell her the truth. "Yes. I am badly curious to know who you are." I finally said the thing that blocked into my head. "But then, I wanted to respect your privacy that is why--"

"Gibberish." She said that cuts me off. "I already knew what you are from the very beginning. You're a Vampire." She spoke. "While you don't know anything about me... I'm not a Nymph, that's given because I don't want to lie. But furthermore, you don't know anything about me."

"Then, do you give me permission to get to know you better?" I directly asked since this is the only chance to finally know her.

"Kind of."

"What are you trying to imply?"

"Well... it is kind of complicated but I want you to know a little bit of me."

"You don't have to force yourself if you don't want too. I understand you and besides--"

"I'm a half blood." She suddenly said that cut me off. "Surprise, right?" she asked and yes, I'm surprised and I don't know what to say. "Alright, if you're ready to ask then you can ask me right away."

I take a very deep, deep breath before I said something. "Fine, you're a half blood then... I won't ask about the clan you belong..." because I already think you belong to the other clan since I have known all the Edelweiss from then until now, so I am sure she is not among us.

"You've figured it out so quickly." She spoke. "But anyway, does it still matter where I belong?" she simply asked as if that knowledge was just too simple.

But after all, is it a big issue to know that she is from the other clan? Yes, our clans are at war but that doesn't include individuality, especially if we are not at war. Although I can't help but to think that there may be conflict between us once others find out about the two of us. And that thought prevents me from getting to know her more fully. That is why I decided not to open up and leave our private lives behind.

"Let us pretend we don't know the truth about ourselves, alright?"

She smirks. "You choose not to answer my question. Why? Is it because I said it right? It really matters if where I belong."

"Not like that but, it's better that we're just like this without knowing each other. Continue to meet here and talk about everything under the sun." I replied but she does not seem to agree. "Please, don't complicate our friendship." I begged.

"Is that what you really want?" she seriously asked me as she looks me in the eyes.

If the truth can be told then, I will say no, but I cannot. "Yes."

"Liar." She replied before she heavily sighs and stand up from sitting at the huge rock. "I'll tell you honestly. I know who you are. The first time that I saw you, I immediately took an interest in getting to know you. And your entry here within the mountains, that's not just because of coincidence."

"What? You mean?"

"Yes, I planned it all."

So, we've already met but where and when? I silently asked myself as I look at her and try to figure out where and when I saw her but I couldn't recall any events that will lead me of meeting her.

"... You. Who are you?"

"That's the question!" she happily exclaimed. "Uhm, who am I and why do I know you?"

Annoying to admit to myself, but I really want to know the whole truth about her. Even if it will put me in greater problem, I don't care anymore. I just wanted to know who she really was and how did she know me!

"No more beating around the bush, tell me the whole truth. Why do you know me? Where do we meet? And when was that? Because I don't remember ever meeting or seeing you, so enlighten me. Who you really are?" I honestly asked her and to my surprised she walks towards me.

"Mr. Haimon Del Gazini." She said my whole name that shocked me. "I'm Siara..." she paused. "Siara Meinir."
