ADAM'S POV
After about five minutes of driving, I felt the car stop. "May I open my eyes now?" I asked Tommy.
"Sure. I'm just at the grocery store. I'm gonna pick up a couple things, so do you mind staying here for a second?"
"Yeah, no problem. Just hurry back. I'm starving," I told him.
He laughed. "No problem, babe."
I waited a few minutes, and then he came running back to the car with a few bags in his hands.
"Need help?" I offered.
"Nah, thank you though. I don't want you to see what I have," was his response.
That sure perked my curiosity. "Should I be scared?" I inquired nervously.
"Of course not. You can trust me." He got into the car and interlocked our fingers. "Close your eyes again, please," he instructed.
I did as I was told. I felt a small kiss on my lips before the car started moving to the mystery destination.
A FEW MINUTES LATER
"We're here, baby, but keep your eyes closed. I have a little bit of preparation to do before we get out," Tommy said.
"Okay," I replied obediently. It took him a couple moments, but then he opened my door and took my hand.
"Come on. I'm gonna guide you there, but I don't want you to open your eyes until I say so, alright?" he instructed.
"Okay." He guided me for a few feet, turned me toward something, and said, "Open your eyes."
I did as I was told to see an absolutely beautiful picnic planned out. There were gorgeous lights strung up in a tree and a soft plaid blanket with grapes and sandwiches and champagne. To make things even better, the sun was setting, give us near-perfect scenery. My jaw dropped.
"Glitterbaby! You didn't have to do all of this! It's gorgeous!" I exclaimed and kissed him gently.
"It's our first date. I wanted it to be special." He smiled up at me, and I kissed him on the forehead. We sat down on the blanket and started eating.
"How did you even get champagne?" I asked.
"Fake ID," he said with a laugh.
"This is amazing," I told him. I lifted my glass. "To destiny."
He raised his glass and clinked it with mine. "To destiny."
