Chapter 2

She glared at the Hawks limp body, her fur prickled has badgerpaw glared at her. 'I-... ' she hissed. 'Save it. ' she padded over to claw storm, who's eyes we're still widened with shock. He muttered a few words and beckoned for her to follow him. She nodded, chasing after him. 'Battle practice' he mewed. He then pounced on her, she shrieked his claws dug into her skin. She reared her back legs and began kicking at the Tom's stomache, struggling to get him off. He placed his paw on her throat. She coughed. 'Dont speak to any cat about this. ' he hissed, she nodded in fear, coughing more. He grabbed her scruff and dragged her closer to the gorge, holding her above it. 'Promise? ' he mewed, she nodded. 'Yes, yes! I do, I promise. I swear! ' she mewed frantically. 'Good.' the time mewed. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭..? Her mind was overwhelmed, the tom glared at her. 'Did you not hear me, come on! ' He hissed, she shook in fear and nodded padding after her mentor. He led her to a strange den and stood at the entrance. 'Stay here, if you leave I'll kill you and blame it on a loner. ' He barred his fangs then left, she stood up as she heard the last of his paw steps, her body trembling with fear. She heard her stomache growl and pinned her ears back. She tasted the air and fear sprang through her, A blizzard was coming.. How could she survive at all? She shivered as cold winds began to creep into the den, she huddled in the corner terrified. She rested her head on her paws and curled her tail for warmth. She woke up has light seeped into the den, she heard paw steps, was that claw storm.. 𝙵𝙾𝚇! The realisiation struck her like a bolt of lightning, her fur bristled and her claws unseathed, the fox crept closer baring it's fangs. Before she could run she felt teeth seeping into her skin, this was it.. The end. She reached out her front paw at the foxes eye, clawing it. The fox dropped her and yelped. Without hesitation she darted under the fox and ran, she could hear the roaring of the wind and paw steps hurriedly chasing her. She could barely see in the terrible storm. She found herself at stepping stones, hopping across as fast as she could. She yowled in pain as her wounds began to hurt more from that jump, her clan mates stared at her in horror. Before she could react a blur of grey passed by her. 'STORMPAW! ' She yowled, the young apprentice had ran at the fox and clawed it, she watched in horror as the fight happend it was all a blur of colours, she could hear storm paws yowl has he was thrown to the ground. The fox ran off, somewhere no cat would go. She watched has cats began to surround STORMPAW, leaving no room for her to see. She struggled to stand up on her paws, the pain making it harder. Smallpaw turned around with a growl. 'its all your fault, all yours! ' he hissed. 'Now now smallpaw.. It wasn't her fault and we mustn't fight while storm paws body is still warm. ' she couldn't make out the cat her eyes blurred, would her wounds be treated? She didn't know at all. Was it her fault that stormpaw got hurt.. Was he dead? She shouldn't of led that fox to camp.. She betrayed her clan mates and now badgerpaw would hate her more. She sighed, the blur began to fade into a black as she passed out, she woke up in the same spot as dawn rose, struggling to stand up again. Had her clan mates forgotten about her. She limped to the clearing, her paws wobbling and her wounds full of pain. She noticed has cats stared at her, she could hear low growls coming from her clan mates, the only look of guilt was from.. Badgerpaw?  He looked like he felt bad.. But she couldn't bother it was probably grief from stormpaw.. Rainpaw stopped, she stared at her clan mates. Her paws wobbled.. How could they treat her like this. She felt her paws go loose under her, her eye hitting onto a rock. She let out a yowl. Once again everything was blurred from dizzyness. She could her distant commotion and worry.. But it didn't matter.. She'd be with stormpaw now and he'd forgive her right?  She eventually woke up to a strange poultice on her Eye. 'You should be fine the rock hit above your eye, I'm sorry you didn't get treated soon enough.. I was stuck here all night trying to fix the nests and sort the herbs.. I should've noticed. I got your wounds all healed and luckily they weren't bad.. But the claw marks are to small to be a foxes.. And look like a cats.. Where'd you get them? ' littlestorm mewed. 'I.. Er I was trying to itch my pelt but I must've accidentally scratched my self.. '  Littlestorm nodded. 'Your lucky, the foxes claws didn't seem to do much damage and your good to do some training just not battle.' Littlestorm nodded. Rainpaw dipped her head and walked out of the medicine den. Claw storm was waiting for her. Rainpaw whimpered following her mentor out of camp. She noticed a bump in the snow a few fox lengths over, curious she walked over. Blood.. A gust of wind blew off some snow.. Underneath was SNOW STAR! She stared in shock.. Snow star couldn't be dead..  She flinched has his eyes slowly opened. 'Rain... ' He gasped, why would he call her by her old name? 'Y-you look so much like you mother.. Her white fur.. ' Rainpaw looked in shock, how did snowstar know what swan looked like? 'Y'know I never thought I'd see swan or my kits again.. ' she couldn't see clawstorm anywhere. 'What do you mean.. How do you know my mother? ' rainpaw mewed, her voice filled with shock. 'Because.. Rainpaw.. I'm your father. ' Snowstars voice was hoarse. Rainpaw watched his body go limp, he couldn't be her father..  She stood for a few moments before racing towards camp, she didn't know where clawstorm went but she didn't care. Just as she neared camp she felt claws Peirce her back and her vision went blurry, she couldnt make out who was attacking her, she gasped as her back was clawed. She felt swift paws knock her over, the pain of the cold snow touching her pelt.. Suddenly it was still cold but wasn't soft... She heard a crack and it came to her.. She was on ice! More cracks began to emerge. She heard another and then it was all a wiff of motion as she felt herself plunge through the icy depths of the river. Bubbles climbed to the surface as she flailed her paws around. She was slowing down. Her  head hopped above the surface for a split second, before falling back down. Fear ran through her as she choked on water, her paws falling limp. Her vision fading into black.. Moments passed and she was met by cats with stars in their pelts. 'Hello young one. ' the smaller one mewed. 'You have a great destiny, you must not join us yet. Beware of the storm of claws. ' Rainpaw gasped. 'WHAT? Surely I'm not the right cat for this! I'm an apprentice. I'm not even clan born! Why me? ' rainpaw whined. 'Ah, my dear. Star clan cannot choose the cat for thisn we know it. And you have a few friends who will help you. ' she opened her eyes, seeing herself in her nest. 'Your awake! ' badgerpaw mewed, she glared. Her tail twitched. 'And so what? It's not like you care anyways.. ' she murmured. 'I do, I'm sorry the way I acted before! ' badgerpaw mewed. 'I guess.. We can be friends again. ' she whispered. Resting her head over her paws. She watched badgerpaw head towards snowstar. Rolling her eyes she got up and headed towards the clearing. Clawstorm glared at her. She looked around the clearing. She then spotted snowstar. He was alive! Thank star clan. Clawstorm gave an awkward glared to snowstar and scoffed. Whys clawstorm so annoyed by snowstar? 'Follow me... ' clawstorm hissed, he muttered a few words under his breath but rainpaw couldn't make it out, her ears twitched. Clawstorm brought her to snowstar and badgerpaw. 'So training together today? ' Clawstorm mewed. Snowstar just nodded. Badgerpaw smiled happily, his tail held high. He prodded after Snowstar. She followed neatly moving her paws over the dusty grounds. They reached stepping stones and she braced her self for a jump. She felt her vision go blurry again. She stopped for a moment as she landed, her vision came back and she jumped again. Bracing her self for landing, she dropped on all four paws. Her vision blurred.
