Rainfrost's Destiny

Chapter 5

She snuck out of camp, her paw pads aching with pain as she walked along the grass. The moon light shown on her white fur. The silent ripples in the water, waves crashing against the rocks it calmed her. The thought of being in her home, riverclan. (I have decided to change pigeons name to mist) Her siblings fox, hail and mist were likely long gone. But the prophecy still lingered in her head. "The Mist will follow the rain after the hail falls onto the leaping fox. " The prophecy contained her and her siblings names. But it probably meant nothing. She crossed the bridge walking to four trees. She then spotted familiar faces. 'Fox, mist hail?! ' She gasped in surprise, The others looked at her. 'You didn't notice us at gatherings? ' Fox mewed. 'No? ' She responded. Confusion covered her gaze. 'Well, I'm Foxtail now, Mist is now Mist cloud and Hail is Hailwing. ' Foxtail mewed. 'Well.. Im deputy. Clawstorm was exiled, why are we even here anyways? Star clan told me to but didn't give a reason. ' Rainfrost mewed. 'Im not sure either, but I feel like something bads coming. But oh, I haven't told you guys.. But I like a cat.. He is just so... Ughh' Mistcloud spoke softly, her beautiful fur bristled in the wind. 'Ive seen him at gatherings, star clan I feel guilty liking a cat from a different clan.. ' She mewed. 'Who..' rainfrost asked. 'Smallwhisker.' Mistfur purred in response. She stood in shock before speaking. 'Smallwhisker.. Is not a good cat... ' She muttered. 'What do you mean rainfros? do you like him? Are you trying to steal him from me?!'Mistcloud hissed, her fur bristling. 'How could I like that fox heart? He's always been rude to me and Badgerfrost, he got mad because smallfoot was talking to me! He tried to get Badgerfrost to hate me! Besides, I have a mate. ' She spat, anger glared in her gaze. 'Oh.. Sorry.. ' Mistcloud mewed, a sting of guilt stung her voice. 'I guess I shouldn't be so quick to blame. ' Mistclouds gaze was full of sorrow. 'Its alright.. ' Rainfrost mewed, judging her sister with a purr. 'I should head back to my clan now, bye! ' Rainfrost raced off, running towards camp. Her paw pads aching even more, she snuck in through the dirt place and settled in her best besides Badgerfrost, She stared for a few moments her thoughts being pushed around. .That was strange, seeing my siblings after so long, how did I not notice them at gatherings? I must be blind! I'm the deputy of riverclan, I should be more aware of my surroundings. Why'd snowstar choose me? I'm to young! Any cat would've saved him from clawstorm. It was the right thing to do. There was a gathering tomorrow, and I'd obviously be going, but do I deserve to sit on the rock? I'm practically useless! I'm just an ordinary cat, why'd starclan choose me for this destiny I don't even want? Why am I chosen for so many things? Why do I feel like... She drifted off into a deep sleep, waking up as dawn arose from the branches. She yawned not giving her self the time to fully wake up she rushed to the clearing. Hopping in front of the wet rock preparing her voice. 'All cats old enough to swim through the rapids please gather around for patrols! ' she yowled, her voice echoing across camp as if starclan wanted her to be heard. Cats began to gather around. 'Pinkfoot lead a hunting patrrol with stormfoot and Badgerfrost. Small whisker lead a border patrol with Bluestorm and oddbush. You may all leave now. ' she mewed. 'All other cats may rest. ' she sighed, snowstar had told her to rest. 'Hey sweetberry! ' she called to the calico shecat. 'Oh, hello rainfrost, my apprentice. Birdpaw was attacked so she's in the medicine den. I have like nothing to do, surprisingly. I'm not used to doing anything, Birdpaws a real pain in the tail. You were lucky with pink foot. ' Sweetberry mewed. 'Oh, uhm thank you. ' Rainfrost responded. 'You know how I'm not clan born, well I saw 3 cats who looked exactly like my siblings at the last gathering!' Rainfrost mewed in excitement. 'Oh, well if they are your siblings I'd love to meet them! ' Sweetberry mewed. 'Yeah, I Have missed them a lot, it's been moons since I've seen them. ' Rainfrost sighed. 'Its boring staying in camp but I already sent out patrols and snowstar told me to rest. He doesn't want me hunting while my cuts are still healing. ' Rainfrost moaned. 'Oh, he is your father after all, and you should tell swan foot later about seeing your siblings, that will certainly cheer her up. She seems so down lately for some reason! Besides, if your ever thinking about who to choose for deputy when you become leader.. Remember who your closest friends are.. ' Sweetberry responded, what was sweetberry hunting at, 'Yeah, I'll... Go tell swan foot. You should bring the elders some food. ' Rainfrost mewed back, Did sweetberry want to be her deputy? Shaking her head she walked to swan foot. Prodding the greying shecat with her paw. Her fur seemed as if it was turning black. 'Swanfoot? ' Rainfrost mewed nervously. 'Yes,.. Dear? ' Swan foot eerily responded. Rainfrost could sense something was bothering Swanfoot. 'Uhm.. I think I saw my siblings at the last gathering.. They looked the exact same.. Well besides size. But you know what I mean. ' Rainfrost mewed. Swanfoots eyes widened with shock. 'Oh, thank starclan snowstars letting me go to this gathering! I'll have to hope my little kits are there too.. Oh starclan I miss my little baby's, I'm glad to be in the same clan as you Rainfrost. I never could've imagined any of my precious little kits becoming a clan cat and now it's happend. I'm proud of you Rainfrost. You've come along way and still have so much time ahead of you.. Your fathers been acting off lately.. I'm afraid he'll join the stars soon.. I never could've imagined the young tom I fell in love with becoming so... What's the word? Off. I don't want to worry you my dear, I'm sure he has plenty of time left. You certainly aren't ready for becoming a leader yet! ' Swanfoot let out a soft laugh. She could tell something was wrong. 'Uhh, thanks... Time passed by fast I better send out patrols. ' Rainfrost muttered nervously, ducking her head and trodding to the wet rock sitting in front of it. After naming patrols she padded over to the tree stump resting on it. She yawned, closing her tail over her eyes. She woke up. 'Rainfrost, Rainfrost! Come on, it's the gathering! Snowstars gonna announce me as a new warrior, and I'm going to the gathering! You have to hurry! ' Pinkfoot mewed in excitement, though her apprentice was a warrior now she still kept her wild energy. 'Yes.. Yes I'm coming, don't worry. ' Rainfrost mewed padding after the rest of the group. Her paws ached as they crossed the bridge. She hopped up onto the lower rock, whispers of confusion spread through the clans like wildfire. She watched swanfoot pad over to her siblings. 'Cats of all clans, we have a new warrior and new deputy! Pinkpaw is now Pink foot, Rainfrost has taken Clawstorms place. Claw storm attempted to kill me. But be has been dealt with and exiled. ' Snowstar yowled. ' Don't think your better then us, you rogue. Your never gonna be a proper deputy. I bet snowstars already rethinking his choices of appointing you. ' Ratear spat. 'I don't care about what you think, it's the gathering, can you not try and stir up drama with me? We're supposed to be listening. Not arguing. ' Rainfrost responded, with a hint of irritation in her voice. Ratear hissed back. Robinstar was now talking about prey running well, new warriors. Then suddenly has Rainfrost turned her head she felt something sharp rake her face. Gasps of horror flooded the clearing. Has blood dropped from her face she could make out a image. Ratear stood in front of her his claws unseathed and a look of anger flashing in his amber eyes. Shocked she stared, but hailwing ran up to her, clawing at Ratear. 'Get your claws off my sister! ' He hissed, sending Ratear tumbling down the rock, 'This isn't done.. ' Ratear hissed, running off. Crowstar stood with his face full off shock. 'Great star clan.. ' He muttered. 'Thanks.. ' Rainfrost mewed, pain clawed at her voice.
