"We... did it," I say, still out of breath from overexertion.

Before I could celebrate our tiny win, a bright purple light caught my attention.

3rd-person POV:
Sitting on the floor of a nearly empty corridor is Dazai, with one of his legs broken. He left behind a trail of blood as he made his way down the hall before becoming unable to walk any further.

Now, he's in a predicament.

"Ah... I've imagined this situation so many times. Though, in my imagination, we were on opposite sides," He says, staring up at Vampire Chuuya from the ground. "What's wrong? Come, Chuuya. Entertain me with your flimsy punch!"

Angered by his words, Chuuya lunges forward to try and hit Dazai, but he stops once he hears the voice of Fyodor.

"Stop," Fyodor says through the speaker, causing Chuuya to freeze. "It's a provocation. He's trying to release you from your vampiric state by having you touch him. Take him out from afar."

"Damn," Dazai says, seconds before Chuuya shoots him in the shoulder, his eyes widening from shock as well as the immense pain. "Fuck! That hurt!" He shouts, his voice strained as he holds onto the shoulder that was just shot. "Where do you think you're aiming? You suck at this!"

Chuuya brings the gun closer to him, the end of the barrel almost touching Dazai's forehead, but not quite making contact with it.

"Now you won't miss," Fyodor says over the speaker.

"This is just the worst. I'm in pain. I lose to Fyodor. And to top it off, it's Chuuya that's about to kill me," Dazai says, turning his head to the side in defeat.

"You look utterly defeated," Fyodor says, closely watching Dazai from the surveillance room.

"Who knows? I might say something absolutely profound and moving, and Chuuya might come back to his senses by the miraculous power of friendship," Dazai suggests, hoping to find some way to snap Chuuya back to normal.

"Give it a try, then," Fyodor says before lowering his voice. "But first..." Fyodor took out a phone then pressed on a contact number with a flower profile. "I need a certain someone to hear this as well."

Y/n POV:
Before I could even think of my next move, my phone began to ring. Confused, I took it out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID and I nearly froze from shock. It was Chuuya.

'Chuuya? He's... calling me...? But isn't he—?'

As I was thinking over what was happening, I figured out who was actually calling me: Fyodor. He was calling me through Chuuya's phone, since he couldn't reach me any other way. The only thing is, I didn't know why he's calling me. And that frightened me.

Reluctantly, I answered the phone, not saying a word as my hand trembled while holding my phone up to my ear. I glanced over at Atsushi and pointed at my other ear, indicating that I wanted him to listen in with his tiger hearing. He nodded his head, understanding what I wanted him to do, and listened into the other side of the phone.

"Chuuya... Wake up." I heard Dazai's voice on the other side of the phone and my eyes widened, realizing what was about to happen. "Our story isn't going to come to an end today in this damn place. We were destined to—" Dazai was cut off by the sound of a gunshot.
