"𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆," Rick said.
"We can't stay here," Herschel argued.
Everyone had made it inside. The walkers were still crowded in the field leaving the group with no other choice than to stay within the prison walls. They were stuck. They didn't have enough bullets to take down the dead outside. And despite Daryl and Merle's return they didn't have enough people to fight the governor.
"What if there's another sniper? A wooden pallet won't stop one of those rounds." Maggie stated.
"We can't even go outside," Beth said.
"Not in the daylight." Carol chimed in.
"Rick says we're not running, we're not running," Levi said.
"No better to live like rats," Merle spoke up. Daryl was back which Stella was happy about but not the return of his brother. She had no idea how her father let him be there. He was locked up but that didn't stop him from spitting out comments every other minute.
"You got a better idea?" Stella spat at him.
"Yeah, we should have slid out of here last night and lived to see another day." The man said. "But we lost that window, didn't we? I'm sure he's got scouts on every road out of this place by now."
"We ain't scared of that prick," Daryl said. That was completely untrue. Stella was beyond frightened.
"Ya'll should be." The older Dixon brother said. "That truck through the fence thing, that's just him ringing the doorbell. We might have some thick walls to hide behind, but he's got the guns and the numbers. And if he takes the high ground around this place, shoot, he could just starve us out if he wanted to." The man's words were followed by a moment of silence.
"Let's put him in the other cellblock," Stella said. She knew that he was probably right. They had nowhere to run and they were stuck inside with almost no ammo. But she was tired of Merle's comments and the way he scared the group. She couldn't stand looking at him without seeing the man who almost killed both her and Levi.
"No, he's got a point," Daryl spoke.
"Cant we just send this prick out there and get the walkers fed." Stella referred to Merle as she raised her voice slightly.
"Stella," Rick said calmly for only her to hear. "He's not worth it."
"What do we do?" Beth asked.
"I said we should leave," Herschel said. "Now Axel's dead. We can't just sit here."
Rick stared at him, pondering his words before he began to walk off making Hershel soot up in frustration. "Get back here!" He shouted bringing Rick to a halt as the older man approached him. "You're slipping Rick. Your daughter is too," Stella's gaze fell to the floor at the man's words. "We've all seen it. We understand why. But now is not the time. You once said this isn't a democracy. Now you have to own up to that. I put my family's life in your hands. So get your head clear and do something."
