2 hours later...

After finishing dinner and completing all the homework assigned, it was finally time to pop the big question of the evening...

Knock. Knock.

"What is it, Christian?" Pops asked as Christian walked in and fidgeted around as if he were about to ask something that could determine the likelihood of him staying alive.

"I was just wondering if I could go to a small party my friend is hosting to commence, the start of a new school year?"

"Hmm, a party you say... so where exactly will this party be held and what time is it supposed to start?" Pops asked curiously as he muted the TV.

"Um, it's a few blocks away in the next neighborhood and it's supposed to start around 10 pm," I said with a hint of nervousness as Pops gazed at me intensely.

"... Well, you are a big boy now so why not, however, you must be home before 11:30 pm and do not come back reeking of pussy and alcohol. Or else you won't be able to leave the house until you are a junior; now skedaddle and leave me alone, so I can finish watching the news."

"Thanks, Pops, and I assure you, I'll be home before 11:30 pm!" I shouted with surprise before quickly dashing away before he could retract what he said.

Swoosh.

"Tsk, kids these... so anxious to explore the world, they forget the consequences their actions can have on them later down the road," Pops muttered as he shook his head and resumed watching the evening news.

...

"Now just what shall I wear?" I wondered as I began to search my closet, after returning to my room.

For a person who lived two lives, you would think he wouldn't be so concerned about what he wore to a high school party. But I guess some things just never change...

A few minutes later...

"Hmm, I think this might be it," I muttered excitedly as I gazed at the outfit, I chose for tonight's party which consisted of a brown oversized flannel with a plain white tee, khaki cargo pants, and low Travis Scott SB dunks.

"For a nerd, you have a surprisingly good fashion sense, Christian," Someone whispered as they inspected the outfit for tonight with an approving nod.

"Who's there?!" I shouted as I spun my head left and right frantically, nearly tripping in the process as I searched for whoever had just spoken. Yet it would seem my mind was playing tricks on me as no matter how I examined my room, I couldn't find anyone but me in the room.

'Sigh, maybe I shouldn't go after all... as this clearly, isn't a good sign if I'm already tripping before I even had a lick of alcohol in my system.'

"Chill dude, I assure you I don't bite, so just calm down and relax," Alex said as he tapped Christian's shoulder.

"Yo! Can you please stop as this isn't funny anymore, Alex?"

"Tsk, my bad... but anywho how have you been?"

"I've been alright, how about you? Also, how did you get into my room?" I had to ask as this was too perplexing for me to understand or even comprehend.

"Sorry, but a magician never reveals his secrets, Christian, however, I've been doing alright ever since my return to Earth," Alex said mysteriously with a smile, before asking a question of his own, "So what's this I hear about a party?"

"Oh, so now you are a magician, what a surprise," Christian chuckled, "Well, supposedly a friend of a friend is hosting a party of sorts to start off the school year; why do you want to come?"

"Of course! Did you have to ask as there is no way, I'm going to miss the party of the century now!" Alex exclaimed as he shot up and grabbed Christian's arm as if he wanted them to quickly head to the venue so they wouldn't miss anything.

"Yo, Alex! Relax man as we still have about an hour and forty-five minutes before it starts, so simmer down and just vibe until it's time to go," I smiled as I shook my head and proceeded to turn on my PS4, so we'd at least have something to do in the meantime.

"Ugh, just why must life be so mean to me?"

'Welp, at least the next few hours won't be boring.' I thought as I went downstairs to get us some snacks and drinks.
