15 minutes later...

"Damn! Now I understand why people used to say we're all sinners and that no man is above nor below another, because Eve and Adam ate the apple from the Tree of Knowledge. When God told them not to, but then again she was tempted by the serpent who fed her lies, so while wrong who can we really blame." Christian muttered to himself after reading a few chapters of Genesis.

"Christian! Breakfast is ready, come downstairs quickly before your food gets cold!" Pops shouted from downstairs as the smell of eggs, Belgian waffles, bacon, sausages, and potatoes could be smelt a mile away.

"I'll be down shortly, just give me a few minutes!" I shouted back as I stood up and stretched before heading down for some good eats, 'Hmm, so it's finally that time, huh? I thought I'd be more nervous or at least sentimental, but maybe that's a good thing for who wants to cry like a baby first thing in the morning after not seeing a loved one for some years?'

Thought Christian as he began to slowly walk downstairs with each step somehow causing his once brave heart to falter as thoughts spiraled in his head. While his eyes began to redden as teardrops dripped down his face.

Until he was finally face to face with the man who singlehandedly dragged him from the darkness into the light and gave new meaning to his life.

"Is everything alright, son?" Pops asked with concern as he lifted his head and gazed at his son, who seemed to have lost his soul as he just stared at him.

Silently while opening and closing his mouth as if he wanted to say something yet it seemed as if a cat had his tongue. And so, he just dashed towards him and hugged him tightly, as if this were the last time, he would ever see him...

"Everything is going to be alright, Christian so just let it out and tell me what's wrong?" He said gently as he hugged Christian and patted his back.

"N... N-Nothing, Dad I'm just grateful to be alive and to have such an amazing father!" I replied as wiped away the tears and smiled.

"I'm glad to hear, now could you please go eat breakfast before taking a shower and heading off to school as the bus will be here any minute now." Pops chuckled after Christian let go of him and sat at the table while he made himself some black coffee.

"Will do, sir!" I replied and began eating like a starving ghost who hadn't eaten food in about 20+ years.
