45 minutes later...

"Pops is this really necessary, can't I just wear regular clothes?" I asked with annoyance as he was just being extra for no reason, after I came downstairs in a plaid T-shirt with blue jeans and white forces.

"Christian, don't make me repeat myself now go change into the gray tech suit, I got for you and that's final," Pops stated with no room for discussion even though I had to give it a nudge.

"Fine, but can I at least wear my white air forces?"

"Sure, but don't take all day now as we got to be out of here by 10, so that we make it in time to snag a good seat," he said from the dining table after he finished setting it up for breakfast.

Before proceeding to share some food for himself in the meantime, while I changed due to not knowing that there was a dress code for church.

"Noted," I could only reply as I ran upstairs and quickly changed.

A few minutes later...

"Hmm, not bad but still the initial outfit was better in my opinion," I muttered as I examined myself in the mirror while nodding my head in approval like a proud Mom, before heading downstairs to get breakfast at last.

"At long last the king has finally arrived, what took you so long your majesty?" Pops asked with blatant sarcasm and a smile on his lips, as he sipped some black coffee after cleaning his plate.

"Relax, it wasn't now that long now; so how much time do I have?"

"A little under an hour, so I'd hurry up and eat before we leave as we won't be eating again until 3:30ish," Pops replied with a chuckle before noticing something was missing from the fit, "Hey, why didn't you wear the matching tie with the suit it would have completed the package?"

"Tsk, do I look like I'm going to an interview or something, Pops?" I questioned, considering whether I wore a tie or not it, surely it would not increase the likelihood of me entering Heaven when my time arrives.

"No, but you are entering the house of the Lord, and it would be for your own good, that you dressed to impress whether you feel obligated or not, my son. Plus, first impressions are everything so either go all out or don't at all, however, for my sake and yours go back upstairs and put on the tie."

"Sigh, just why must I have been adopted by a fastidious old man?" I muttered as I headed back upstairs to retrieve a tie this time around before returning shortly afterward, with a patterned gray tie on that did help complete the suit.

"Ahh, now that's my boy," Pops smiled, "But seriously, share yourself a plate of food, and let's go."

...

30 minutes later...

After finishing breakfast which was just eggs, bacon, and maple pancakes, and cleaning the kitchen, we finally left the house and began to make our way over to North Haven Church.

Thud.

"So, this is it, huh?" I asked as we stepped out of the car and began to approach the church, which was hidden behind some oak trees.

"Yup, and it seems we made it in the nick of time to join in on praise and worship," he replied joyfully as he locked the car and began to hum a soft tune.
