Draco sighed as he watched the younger boy walk into the bathroom. He didn't understand why Harry was so hesitant to come to breakfast with him and that worried the blonde a lot as he couldn't recall seeing the boy eating in the great hall even once since the start of the year.
"Is it because he still doesn't trust me?.." Draco thought to himself as he stared at the bathroom door with a frown. Blaise took note of Draco's worried expression and laid a comforting hand on his shoulder."I'm not gonna ask what exactly happened or why he slept here last night... but is he alright?" Blaise asked hesitantly. "He looked so tired and his eyes were puffy like he just cried... and it looks like he hasn't eaten in days Draco!.. he-he looks so... so..."
"Fragile and broken.." Draco added looking at Blaise sadly making the other boy nod his head with a sigh. "I feel terrible Blaise... I feel awful knowing that I added to all the pain he was going through... god what the fuck was I thinking.. I'm so stupid!" Draco said burying his head into his hands. Blaise frowned looking at his friend.
"Hey, the past is in the past, it's what we're willing to do now to change it that matters, aren't you the one who told me and the others that?" Blaise said smiling at his friend cheekily but deep down he was also worried for the raven-haired boy. Never in his life did he think he would ever see the most brave and selfless person in the entire wizarding world endure so much pain. Despite feeling down, Draco let out a laugh at his friends' antics.
While Draco was busy feeling miserable about himself, Harry himself was having a crisis. Harry stared at his reflection in Draco's jumper and cringed at himself. The green and silver jumper hung loosely on Harry's small body with the Slytherin house crest proudly on the left side of his chest. Harry didn't really mind wearing a Slytherin jumper as much as he first thought he would. He thought it was pretty cool and much more comfortable compared to his old Gryffindor quidditch jumpers, but it was the way it fit him that made him cringe. His fluffy hair was messy, almost reaching his eyes, and combined with the loose fit of the jumper, he felt like it made him look more feminine. Dressing up or looking feminine didn't bother Harry, but the thought of others judging him clouded his mind like a plague. On top of that, students were sure to pay attention to the number 7 and 'Malfoy' written in bold on the back.
"God... I look so stupid... this is a really bad idea.." Harry thought to himself as he grimaced. "Malfoy's probably gonna regret giving me his jumper... what was he thinking anyway? It has his name on the back.." Harry blushed at the last thought before shaking away his negative thoughts. He slowly stepped outside the bathroom to see Draco laughling at something Blaise had said but Draco's laughter quickly died down as soon as he noticed the raven-haired boy. Harry visibly shrunk under Draco's gaze on him and started fiddling with the sleeves of the jumper.
"Um..is it... does it look bad?.." Harry asked timidly, his eyes darting from Draco and Blaise, who were both just staring at the smaller boy.
"No.. no uh you look... it looks great.." Draco stuttered out after what felt like an eternity for Harry. The raven-haired boy looked at Draco uncertainly while Blaise watched the scene unfold with an amused smirk on his face. Although Blaise didn't say it out loud, he also thought that Harry looked adorable in Draco's jumper.
"Looks nice on you Potter. You should've been in Slytherin, green and silver suits you well." Blaise said with a wink in an attempt to diffuse the awkwardness between the two boys. Harry smiled lightly at this and mumbled a quiet thank you. "Shall we get going then?" Blaise asked making his way to the door while pulling Draco along with him.
Harry kept his head low staring at the floor as Draco and Blaise led the way downstairs to the Slytherin common room. While Harry was lost in thought, Draco kept sneaking glances at the smaller boy behind him, unable to keep his eyes off him. Blaise rolled his eyes at Draco's behavior.
"Stop staring at him you daft!" Blaise hissed in a whisper as he elbowed the blonde in the stomach. Draco groaned in pain clutching his stomach in pain and glaring at Blaise as they reached the common room.
"What's gotten your knot twisted?" Pansy asked with a raised eyebrow as she stared at Draco. Blaise smirked at this.
"Our dear Draco here can't stop-" Blaise started but was quickly cut off by Draco who smacked his head. Pansy rolled her eyes as the two Slytherins continued bickering with each other.
"SHUT IT!" Pansy yelled suddenly making Draco and Blaise quiet down immediately. Harry flinched at the sudden noise and it was at this moment that Pansy noticed the raven-haired boy standing awkwardly. "Oh. Sorry about that Potter..." Pansy said carefully shooting a questioning glance to Draco. The blonde gave Pansy a look silently telling her not to question it making her nod understandingly.
At the mention of Harry's name, other Slytherins in the common room turn to look at him making Harry hide behind Draco at all the sudden attention towards him. Draco quickly noticed Harry's discomfort and led Pansy and Blaise out of the common with Harry following behind them quietly. More whispers followed them as they walked towards the great hall. Harry kept his head low and followed the Slytherins trying his best to ignore the whispers and gazes directed towards him. Draco slowed his pace slightly letting Pansy and Blaise walk before him. The blonde kept sneaking side glances towards the smaller boy walking beside him hoping he would look at him but Harry kept his gaze down making Draco frown.
"Hey... you doing okay, love?" Draco asked softly, trying to get Harry's attention but the raven-haired boy continued looking at the floor not showing any signs he had heard what the blonde had said. Draco stared at Harry worriedly trying to understand the cause of his sudden dissociative behavior. Harry suddenly stopped walking as soon as they reached the doors of the great hall. Draco looked at Harry in confusion but that confusion soon turned into worry as he noticed Harry's rapid breathing. Both Pansy and Blaise turned around when they noticed the other two had stopped walking. Draco quickly glanced at Blaise, who nodded understandingly and looked at Harry with concern before leading Pansy into the Great Hall.
