The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur of laughter and conversations between the group. Draco frowned as he realized how Harry hadn't eaten anything nor had he finished his butterbeer. The blonde also noticed how the smaller boy had gone dead quiet once again and just listened to their conversation instead of taking part in it. Draco's initial concern for the boy grew as he observed Harry's repetitive behaviors and slowly connected the dots. The blonde made a mental note to talk to Harry about all this as he leaned closer to him.
"Hey, you alright?" Draco asked gently. Harry glanced at Draco and forced a smile as he nodded his head mutely. Blaise noticed this exchange out of the corner of his eyes but kept quiet knowing better than to intrude. "Are you sure?" Draco pressed gently. The blonde let out a sigh as he received another nod from Harry but decided not to press the boy any further. Draco knew there was more going on with Harry than just a lack of appetite but he didn't know how to help him which frustrated him.
Harry on the other hand tried his best to stay calm. He tried his best to be involved in the conversations made by the others but he couldn't shake the feeling of someone's eyes on him. He had felt someone watching him ever since they had gotten their drink. Harry took a deep breath, trying to calm the unease that tugged at him from within. He glanced around the crowded room, searching for the source of the unsettling sensation. The raven-haired boy glanced around the dimly lit bar but no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't pinpoint who might be watching him. He forced himself to focus on the conversation at hand, nodding and trying to smile at the right moments as the others chatted away but every now and then his gaze would dart around the room, unable to shake the feeling of being observed.
As the evening wore on and the noise of the pub grew louder, Harry's nerves began to settle. Just as he began to relax, a movement caught his eye. Across the table, in a dim corner of the pub, a figure in a hooded cloak sat facing directly towards him. The hood hid the person's face but Harry could feel their gaze locked onto him, unblinking and intense. A shiver ran down the raven-haired boy's spine as he stared back at the unknown person. He tried to convince himself it was just his imagination, but the figure didn't move. Harry shifted uncomfortably in his seat and his hand began to tremble.
Harry took a few deep breaths trying to calm himself, unaware of the worried stare of the boy beside him. Blaise laid his hand on Harry's trembling ones, a frown on his face, making Harry jump in surprise at the sudden contact.
"Hey hey... it's alright, it's just me," Blaise said softly trying to calm Harry down. The raven-haired boy visibly relaxed and nodded his head. "Is something wrong?" Blaise continued worriedly. Harry hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say as he still felt it was his imagination. The raven-haired boy glanced nervously at the hooded figure across the room again. Blaise's brows furrowed in concern as he followed Harry's gaze to the hooded figure. "Who is that?" Blaise asked, his voice low and serious.
Harry let out a breath realizing that he wasn't going mad and that there was in fact someone staring at him. Blaise's grip on Harry's hand tightened slightly as he felt a protective instinct kicking in.
Do you want me to do something about it?" Blaise offered, staring at the raven-haired boy with a firm look on his face. Harry quickly shook his head, not wanting to cause a scene or draw attention to himself, and turned to look at the hooded figure only to find them gone. Harry glanced around the pub frantically searching for any sign of the stranger but they were nowhere to be seen. Blaise's frown deepened as he scanned the room as well.
"Where did they go?" Blaise murmured to himself. Harry shook his head, feeling a knot of anxiety forming in the pit of his stomach. Blaise's expression softened with concern as he glanced at Harry.
"Do you think they were following you?" Blaise asked quietly. Harry bit his lip, considering the possibility, and shrugged slightly. Their hushed conversation soon caught Draco's attention, his gaze fixed on Blaise's hand resting on Harry's trembling ones. Draco sent a questioning glance at Blaise, silently seeking an explanation. Blaise shook his head making Draco frown with worry.
