Skylar remembers the morning after The Event.

The day after the biggest mistake of his life, when he had to deal with his consequences and also just the fact of what happened. The night before, Skylar was absolutely exhausted. For some reason at the time he was under the impression that that was probably the best sex he would ever have and Ashton had some goddamn talent.

He was basically brain dead when it was over, and Skylar is pretty sure one night stands are supposed to be over as soon as the sex is over. The next morning was a serious fucking wake up call, though. So much for the bliss from the night before.

He opened his eyes to light peeking through the curtains of a luxurious room it took him a minute to remember. Once he realized he was in an unfamiliar place, he woke up quite fast. He couldn't move very well at first, so he just slowly sat up. The interior design was a dark theme, and he saw a pile of clothes on the floor. Some of the clothes he could recognize as his own, and that caused a surge of alarm.

Skylar was naked.

He was also in pain, and not even just from his injuries the night before. No, he had pain in his lower back, including a specific orifice of his. Still, as soon as he laid his eyes on a passed out Ashton beside him, he went into panic mode.

Ashton had a tattoo his back, as well as a half sleeve on his arm, that Skylar had never really noticed before. Well, he'd seen the sleeve, but it never processed. Ashton also had scratch marks down his back, which had Skylar already blushing. He was lying on his stomach with an arm across Skylar's waist, the other hanging off the other edge of the bed from the elbow down. He was asleep, Skylar could hear his soft, stead breathing, and that's when it really hit him what happened last night.

Skylar got out of there as fast as he possibly could. He was immediately putting on some of Ashton's clothes without permission, just leaving his own ruined ones on the floor. He called Jessie to come pick him up and take him back to his car, and the guy obliged. He was there in ten minutes, and Skylar was able to slip out before Ashton ever woke.

The drive to Skylar's car was awkward, but almost entirely from his own end. He felt bad keeping this from Jessie, but he absolutely could not tell him. He did ask if Jessie had ever been in Ashton's house, which the guy responded to with a negative. Skylar was then questioned about the hickeys on his neck, and he made an excuse about it happening with a girl at school or something. Jessie accepted the answer without question.

That was the first time Skylar awoke to Ashton. The second, was the morning after the whole ordeal of Ashton being mad and Jessie being confused and Skylar getting the shit beaten out of him.

He woke up to his phone buzzing, and groaned, rolling over onto his back. He felt minutely better than yesterday, but that wasn't saying much. He still wanted to curl up into a hole and die, but decided to just answer his phone and get it over with. He didn't look at the caller ID, though it's not like he actually had Ashton's number saved yet. Still, if he knew it was Ashton he probably wouldn't have answered.
