After their whole conversation, Ash went to go finish his work out—since evidently his mom had interrupted him—and Skylar just took his bags back to his room. Evidently he is not being evicted, because Ash had the misfortune of developing real feelings for him. Skylar is still having a difficult time processing that.

He's also having a hard time with the fact he feels the same way. He sits on his bed for about twenty minutes, just staring at the wall as he contemplates everything that just happened. The worst part is, however, that this revelation doesn't really change that much. Sure, it's terrifying, but his personal feelings are the exact same as they were before. So, he's felt this way for a while.

Eventually it becomes too much, and Skylar decides that—even though it's a horrible idea and they just had an entire conversation about him getting help—he's going to do drugs. Except, when he opens up his bag, he finds considerably less of his supply in it than before. One pill container, to be exact, when previously he had a dozen. How did he not notice the change in weight? Was he really that distracted?

Skylar clenches his jaw, because this is bullshit and will not fucking stand. Hell no, he can't live off of this, and he no longer has somewhere to steal from! They completely destroyed Crimson's building of operations!

So, he exits his room, out for blood.

He finds Ash in the weight room, drinking water, appearing to have just finished up his workout. Skylar doesn't care, standing in the doorway until Ash notices him a minute later. He quirks an eyebrow, wiping his mouth and appearing confused at how Skylar's mood changed so quick.

Skylar holds out the unzipped bag, where there is clearly only one pill container, and glares at him. Through grit teeth, he says, "where's the rest of it?"

Ash grabs his speaker and his phone, before beginning to walk towards Skylar, who moves out of the way for him without even thinking about it. He growls when Ash passes him, not even sparing him a glance.

"That's all you get. You need to ration it out."

"What?" Skylar snaps, right on Ash's heels as he walks across the living room and up the stairs. The guy only speaks again when they reach his bedroom, and Skylar follows him inside without hesitation. The guy walks to his bathroom and turns the shower on, before turning to face Skylar. He appears to not want to talk about this at all, looking vaguely uncomfortable. Well, this is an easy conversation to avoid. Just give Skylar his pills back.

"After I got you situated last night, I called a rehab center—" Skylar gives him a look, a spark of anger igniting, ready to turn around and grab his bags again. However, Ash continues quickly, "not because I wanted to send you there. Most rehab centers wouldn't accept you anyway. I just wanted to know the best way to help you, and they said limiting your supply and making you use the rest of it on your own terms was the best option, since cold quitting would be a lot more risky. I was hoping you'd try to space it out more."

"No way— that is not going to do anything. I will die. Or lose my mind."

The worst part is that this makes sense, and when Skylar has done research into the few people who have overcome this addiction, this was generally their first step. However, he is not them. His addiction is quite bad, getting to the point where he's reaching the end of the average lifespan for someone addicted to cytozine. This will not fucking work.

Ash removes his exercise shorts, leaving him in just his dark underwear, and Skylar immediately looks away. He feels his face warming up, despite the fact he is quite upset right now, and it irritates him.
