The person who picks Skylar up is the mysterious woman from the other day. He's only aware of this because he recognizes her voice when she talks.
She is in a car that is entirely black, including the windows which seem tinted right on the border of being illegal. It's a nice car, and really shiny, and Skylar feels kind of bad that he's covered in dirt and mud. They are definitely going to have to clean up after him.
Oh well. It's not like he can do anything about it.
Skylar gets in the passenger side, because he can't see into the back of the car and therefore doesn't know if it's clear. Upon entering the vehicle, he finds that he definitely could've. This thing is spotless. Well, too late now.
Skylar fastens the seatbelt, glancing at the lady from the corner of his eye. She has sunglasses, and is immediately pulling out of the little grass area of the dirt pit. She doesn't say anything to him, and normally there is nothing Skylar enjoys less than conversation. He has no natural social desire, and is also kind of mean to everyone.
However, he finds himself really wanting to talk to this lady. Did she get the no questions memo? Hopefully not, because Skylar is going to ask them either way.
"Who are you?" He asks, and the lady doesn't even look at him. She's wearing all black, and she appears to be dressed in some sort of pantsuit. She has black hair and skin a shade lighter, with freckles across her nose. She's quite pretty.
"Nina."
Damn. That kinda answers absolutely nothing, maybe Skylar should've been more specific. He squints at her, and she still hasn't spared him a glance. It irritates him, though it probably shouldn't. He gets the feeling she's an accorder, since she works so closely with Ash. Judging by how Skylar's seen Ashton treat people while in Crime Mode, this is probably just how they are normally.
Whatever. It's still annoying. "How do you know Ashton?"
"How do you?" She replies easily, and Skylar is unsurprised but still irritated. He doesn't like being brushed off like this.
How could he possibly answer that question, anyway? What could their relationship even be called? Friends with benefits? No, they're not friends. Enemies with benefits? Except, the benefit only happened once, so that doesn't apply. Two acquaintances with weird tension who are not on the same page about anything relating to whatever the fuck they have going on? No, that's too much of a mouthful.
Skylar decides to just not answer her question. "I asked you first."
She purses her lips for a moment, appearing to dislike the conversation. She hasn't been all that rude, though. Skylar wonders if that's just how she is normally, but it doesn't really line up with her personality type. Or anyone's personality type. A lot of people would've snapped at him by now, but she's been patient.
"We're colleagues."
Skylar blinks. Okay, he wasn't actually expecting her to answer. That actually isn't even all that great of a response, anyway, since Skylar could've fucking guessed that.
"Like, for his other job?" Skylar specifies, even though that should be obvious. If she was a colleague at Brandy's he'd fucking know her. However, he also hasn't been to work in a while.
"Yes."
Holy shit, Skylar should totally question her right now. Then again, Ashton did tell him not to. Actually... since when does Skylar give a shit about upsetting that guy? He'll do whatever the hell he wants, and more than anything, he wants information.
"Uhhh what do you do?" He asks, unable to hide his interest. He is ver obviously anticipating her answer immensely. More than anything, actually.
"I was told," she replies, and Skylar frowns. He can already tell she is not about to answer his question. "That I am not to answer any of your questions."
