You become who you are, end up where you're meant to. You just didn't think it would happen so soon. You were touring with your band and this was your last stop for the season. According to tradition, you alone would settle in the final location and work on the music in peace. This time, it was LA and you were wondering how a hotel booked you for a birthday party, but it still felt like a concert, but with a smaller crowd so you didn't have to fight so hard to be heard.
That did not mean that you didn't rock out. The songs were a bit bouncy especially due to how you danced around the stage, but the drummer let the crowd feel it and kept up rockingly. The electric kept everything sharp and moving. Along with your main music, home-written, you also threw in the occasional cover. You couldn't actually write soft songs or the ones about love. You expressed your loss most which was why you performed a dainty cover of Lewis Capaldi's 'Someone You Loved'. It was a beautiful song which never failed to bring tears to your eyes. You followed with Amy Lee's 'Love Goes On & On'. Another beaut, earning you some attention from a longterm resident.
It was the opening like that drew the smoking blonde to look over the balcony. "I don't need drugs; I'm already 6 feet low." The ghost felt that, and a tear streamed down her face. Your other covers hinted at a darkness you felt. You held the mic, belting out and holding notes. "Someone send me an angeeeeellllllll. To lend me a halo. I fell in love with the Devil; please save me from this Heeeeeeelllll!" Sally's eyes were glued to you the entire time, learning your soul through your set. You sang and your teammates played, occasionally singing as well, for three hours for the fashionista's son. Sally wondered how Lachlan was a fan as you were so deep and pained, and he was a spoiled child. You ended the set with Madonna's 'Devil Pray', loving the song and obviously not taking it seriously.
You of course had to schmooze the birthday boy a bit, but as the team found the bar, it was Sally's turn. She still eyed you, not bothering to be discreet. The four of you chatted and mingled alone, drinking lightly. Eventually you gave in to the feeling of someone looking at you and met those sad cow eyes. But she wasn't sad with your attention. No, she winked.
You looked away and exhaled.
Sally the ghost warmed at the victory. She thought her feelings should be hurt, but instead she was enamored with how you looked everywhere but at her. You weren't dramatic or stupid about it, mostly just entertaining the people in the Blue Parrot with the band. You talked and drank and, at one point you drank at an angle so you could see if she was still there out of the corner of your eye. Sally was ecstatic. One of the band members recognized a dealer when he saw one and saddled up opposite to her. While he flirted poorly, you essentially ignored that table.
Your drummer walked straight up to you, banging on the bar rhythmically. "That was bangin', babe! You rock hard. Question is... do you play hard?"
A very stern expression settled over your face. It didn't look right on you and luckily, it didn't stay long. "I drink after a gig and sometimes I'll smoke a joint. You know this. Now, go play with yourself." Buzz sufficiently killed, you got up and made for your room.
You didn't even realize the girl from the bar followed you. She must've stepped in behind you. "I thought all rock 'n rollers liked the high life." Her voice was like smoke; dark and raspy, but the way it moved entranced any on-lookers. She stepped up behind you.
You couldn't help looking over your shoulder had it not been fringed and up everywhere. Her brown eyes threatened you with claiming to know all of your secrets. Her face held dried tear tracks which led to the alluring paint of her lips, currently in a smirk. She was beautiful, unhealthily thin and her chest looked bruised or scratched. She wore a long-skirted dress covered with a leopard printed coat.
