Chapter 9

"Ronnie?" I asked. He turned around and walked away. "Ronnie?" I shouted. I ran after him. He stopped walking. "Ronnie, it's me, Audrey." I said. He turned around. His hair was long and greasy. And he had a crazy look in his eyes. "I am firestorm." He said, his voice was the same as how I remembered. "I can't believe you're back." I said happily. Tears of joy rolling down my cheeks. "Don't look for me again." He said. "Ronnie, where are you going? you're coming with me." I said and I grabbed his hand. "Your temperature is really high, maybe you need to go to the doctor." I told him. "Ronnie, are you listening?" I asked. "I'm firestorm." He said again. Suddenly someone pulled me backwards. And the same moments Ronnie's arms and head were surrounded by flames. "Ronnie!" I screamed. "Run." Someone shouted. But I couldn't move. I sat on the ground watching how the Flash attacked my brother. And that was were I lost my trust. The next moment Ronnie flew away, he flew. It was too much to take. "Audrey, are you okay?" The Flash asked me. He put his hand on my shoulder. "Don't touch me." I said. "Audrey." He said. "That was my brother!" I screamed. "Let me bring you home." He said. "No, I'm fine by myself." I stated before walking home.

"Caitlin?" I asked, tears were rolling down my face. "Audrey, hey!" She said. "What's wrong?" She asked when she saw my red eyes. "I saw Ronnie." I said and I laughed. "The Flash tried to attack him." I said panicked. "What if they kill him?" I asked panicked. I felt that I needed more oxygen. But I couldn't breathe. "Breathe." Caitlin said. She placed a bag over my mouth and slowly I started to breath again. "Why does that happen every time." I murmured.

"I'll stay with you tonight." Caitlin told me, she stood in my room in her pajama. I rolled to one side of the bed, and Caitlin lied down next to me. "Do you think I'm crazy?" I asked softly. "No." She said. "Good." I murmured before I shut my eyes.

"Good morning." Caitlin said with a big smile. I still laid on my back. I slept a few hours but at some point I woke up. And I couldn't sleep anymore. I spent hours lying still, just thinking. "You knew." I whispered. "I knew what?" Caitlin asked, her smile fading. "You knew Ronnie was back." I accused her. She didn't answer, she just sat there. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked, my voice breaking. "Strange things happen in Central. I didn't want you to get involved." She tried to explain. "I need some time to be alone." I said. I stood up and grabbed some clothes. "I'm going to S.T.A.R. Labs then." Caitlin said. I didn't respond. I heard the door shut behind her. I slowly put my clothes on. I was watching tv for an half hour when someone knocked on the door. I walked to the door and saw Iris. "Hi." She squealed. "Hey." I said surprised. "Barry has that sweater too." Iris said, referring to my S.T.A.R. Labs sweater. "It's from Caitlin." I mumbled, sipping from my coffee mug. "You and Barry would be cute together though." I heard her say. I choked on my coffee. "I don't like Barry." I coughed. "No, you like the Flash." She said giggling. I felt my cheeks heat up. "But Barry is sweet. Why don't you like Barry?" She asked. "I just don't." I mumbled before walking to the couch. "How is your love life?" I asked. "Great, Eddie and I are living together." Iris said with the biggest smile ever. "That's great." I mumbled. I was jealous. She had a perfect relationship. While I was crushing on someone I didn't know. But I was really mad because he attacked my brother. "Shall we go to Jitters?" Iris asked. "Okay." I agreed

"You know, I can't blame you. Every girl has a sweet spot for the hero." Iris said, we we're sitting at a table at Jitters. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "A girl can fantasize." She defended herself. "Too much information." I muttered. "Don't act like you don't do it. I mean that leather suit, it would be hot." She said smirking. My face became redder with every word. And Iris smile grew. Someone behind us started coughing loudly. "Barry, what's wrong." Iris asked. "Nothing, I just choked." He apologized. His cheeks were slightly red. And I wondered, why did I suspect this guy?
