I'm the girl of his dreams, I still thought about it even though Barry left a few hours ago. Caitlin didn't appreciate it that Barry snook out.
"I'm home." Caitlin called. She sat down beside me on the couch. "I think we should talk." She said. "About what?" I asked. She didn't look happy, but I didn't know anything I could have done wrong. I did the laundry, the dishes, I cleaned the house and I cooked every evening. "Barry." She said. "I'm really sorry about the sneaking out thing, Cait. I didn't knew about it too." I apologized. "Audrey, it's not that," She muttered, "Don't you think you and Barry should take things slower?"
I frowned. "Aren't you happy for me?" I asked her. Yes, I knew Barry and I hung out a lot. But that was none of her business. "Of course I am. I think it's great that you are dating again. But I think it is distracting Barry." She said slowly. "That's bullshit." I spatted. "I can't believe you're saying that." I said and I stood up. "Audrey, what are you doing?" Caitlin asked. I had grabbed my bag. I walked upstairs and took some clothes and other things I needed daily. Like my pajamas, toothbrush and hairbrush. "Audrey, didn't mean to upset you." She said. "I'm not upset." I muttered, putting everything in my bag. "I'm just leaving for a few days." I muttered.I realized too late that I should have taken my car. It took my at least half an hour before I was at my destination. Iris' house. I pressed on the bell and waited. Mr. West opened the door. "Annie?" He asked surprised. "Audrey." I corrected him again with a small smile. "Is Iris home?" I asked. "Iris doesn't live here anymore." He said. I remembered, Iris moved in with her boyfriend a while ago. "I'm sorry, mr. West. I forgot." I apologized. "Joe? Who is it?" Someone shouted. "Is that Barry?" I asked. That moment he appeared in my sight. "Audrey?" He asked surprised. "Hey, Barry." I said. "What's wrong? Please come in." He said. "No, it's fine. I was leaving." I said. "Audrey, you've been crying. Please come in." He said. Joe West had decided this had nothing to do with him and had awkwardly left. "I don't want to bother you or Mr. West." I muttered. He sighed and grabbed my hand, gently he dragged me inside. "You want some tea? Or coffee?" Joe asked. "Tea, please." I said and smiled awkwardly. Joe stood up and walked to the kitchen. "What's wrong?" Barry asked. "Just a fight with Caitlin." I muttered. I didn't want him to ask a lot of questions, I didn't want him to know it was about him. "About what?" He asked softly, whipping away my tears with his thumbs. "Doesn't matter." I said. "Audrey, you took your stuff and left." He said. "I don't want to talk about it." I muttered. "Here you go." Joe said and he placed the hot mug in front of me. "Thank you." I smiled. "Are there any hotels near here? I forgot my car." I asked Joe, drinking my tea. "All hotels are on the other side of the city," Mr. West said, "You could stay here for a few days." He quickly glanced at Barry. "I don't know.." I started. "Audrey, it's almost midnight. I won't let a young girl walk alone at night. You can stay tonight, then we talk again in the morning." Mr. West said. "Thank you, mr. West." I said smiling. "You're welcome," He smiled. "Where is the bathroom? I'd like to freshen up before I go to bed." I asked him. "Upstairs on the left is the bathroom, Iris' old room is next to it. I don't want to be a grandpa yet." He said. I walked upstairs with my bag and stopped when I heard them talking. "How did you know?" I heard Barry ask. "I know those things before you know it yourself." Joe responded. "I'm going to bed too." Barry said. He walked upstairs but stopped halfway. From here I could see him but he couldn't see me. He turned around. "You should give the grandpa speech to your daughter, she's the one who is sharing her apartment." Barry teased. A pillow flew trough the air and if Barry wasn't so fast it would have hit him. They laughed and Barry continued his way up. Quickly I walked in the bathroom and shut the door. I turned the shower on and undressed myself. I just got in the shower when someone knocked. "Are you almost finished? I need to brush my teeth." Barry said. "I haven't locked the door. Just wait a second I need to close the curtains." I said. I closed them. "Ready." I shouted. I heard the door open and shut. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about your fight with Caitlin?" Barry asked. "I'm sure." I responded. I silent we stood there, and I enjoyed the hot water. "Good night, Audrey." He said. "Good night, Barry." I responded. The door shut again.
Iris' room was a reflection of her personality. It was warm and organized but very open. Even though I wasn't planning on staying long, it felt like a home.
