I made it home for my lunch break and saw the front door wide open.

Why Veronica got the front door open like that? Anybody could just walk in.

I got out the car and walked in the house seeing  Veronica unconscious in a blood of her own blood and the kids trying to wake her.

Lorenzo - Junior what happened?

Junior - a man came and hurt Ronnie.

Lorenzo - what man?

Junior - he had really long hair.

Lorenzo - go in your room and take Sid with you

Junior - but dad-

Lorenzo - now Junior.

He walked out of the living room.

I felt my chest getting tight. I wanna cry so bad but I can't let the kids see me break down like that.

I checked her pulse and she was still breathing.

I cradled her in my arms as I pulled out my phone and called an ambulance. My eyes watered.

I know that sick ass nigga Semaj did it.

I sat in the hospital room with Veronica. Teana came and got Sid and Junior and said she would keep them for as long I needed.

Veronica was fully awake now but she wasn't talking or even looking at me. She just had a guilty look on her face like she'd done something wrong.

Lorenzo - Baby

I touched her hand and she snatched it away from me as a single fell from her eye.

The  doctor came in.

Dr. Sali - Ms. Chandler the results of your rape kit came back and you have some intense brushing. Your kit was sent to the police station as we did find DNA that may match to somebody in their  system.

Veronica only nodded.

Dr. Sali - we have counseling and-

Veronica - I'm good. I don't need that stuff.  Perfectly fine.

Lorenzo - baby-

She out her hand in my face.

The doctor walked out.

Lorenzo - we both know that Semaj did it . I will handle him.

Veronica - no you won't.  Lorenzo maybe we should just call it quits.

Lorenzo - for what?

Veronica -  because I can't do this right now.

Lorenzo - I'm not going anywhere.

Veronica - you don't want me.

Lorenzo - yes I do. I know it wasn't your fault.

Veronica - it is my fault. I put my kids in danger and I got hurt. He came into our home and r-

She started to hyperventilate.

Veronica - I can't do this.  

I hugged her.

Veronica -  he could've hurt them and you would've never forgiven me

Lorenzo - the kids are fine though. I love you.

Veronica - I feel disgusting.

Lorenzo - you aren't.

I'm not letting the police handle shit. Semaj is gon end up in a body bag for fucking with mine.

The nurse walked in and have me some water and some pain medication.

Veronica - I can you leave the bottle.

Lorenzo - you tryna kill yourself.

I didn't look at him.

Lorenzo - you need to be here. You deserve to be here for our family, the kids and yourself.

I shook my head no.

I took a deep breath. I've made up my mind . I'm done.
