Chapter nine

Recap:

' oh don't be dramatic girl, if you shall speak like a child, you'll be treat like one. Felix you aren't contributing to the conversation, take her home then come back.' Arthur said bossily, glaring at Lily, not liking being questioned.

Lily huffed and stood up, storming to the lift. Felix looked conflicted but then followed her into the lift to escort her home.

The lift closed, and it was an awkward ride to the ground floor, when the lift opened, Lily stormed ahead, leaving Felix feeling at war with himself but he hurried after her.

' Lily wait! I have to make sure you get home safely!' Felix insisted.

' no. Arthur just said 'take her home' he doesn't care if it's safely, feel free to go back' Lily said angrily, turning back to him, now stopping in the middle of the town.

' yes but I want to get you home safe-'

' ha well surely your little meeting about POISONING PEOPLE IS TO- mmph' she was cut off by Felix's hand over her mouth, she took a sharp intake of air through her nose, he was very close she couldn't help but notice but then she remembered she was angry so tried to shove him off.

' I'm sorry Lily. But people are looking... you'll end up with someone calling the police.' He said gently taking his hand away from her mouth.

' like they'd do anything.' Lily muttered, her voice a lot quieter now.

The two began walking again, but slower now, side by side.

' for the record... I- I don't agree with the idea Arthur had either...' Felix said softly

' really? You don't agree with something the great Arthur Slugworth says? That's a first' Lily said coldly

' look Lily, you- oh we're here' he said looking at the factory that had the Prodnose home above it.

Lily paused, kind of wanting to know what he was going to say, ' why don't you come in...'

' really?' Felix asked, looking into her eyes to check for signed of her joking.

' really, this... I don't want to make this make us fall out' Lily said quietly, opening the door for him to come in.

' ah, as I was saying, Lily you've really opened my eyes, I know I normally agree with Arthur but I just cannot push myself to agree with poisoning people, even if it only changed their hair color and length' Felix said firmly, ' I think for a while now I haven't agreed with Arthur's ideas... I just needed someone to help me realize that'

Lily and Felix smiled at one another as they got up to the living room, ' w-would you like a drink?' Lily asked politely.

' just a water is fine thank you' Felix smiled but followed her into the kitchen anyway.

' uhm Lily I-'

' Felix I-'

The two laughed at each other before Felix put his hand out encourage Lily to continue, "Felix... I'm sorry for snapping at you... I just hate this situation so so much... I'm glad you've changed your perspective of things"

Felix gave her a soft smile, ' you have nothing to be sorry for Lily, what Arthur is planned is wrong, anyone can see that... except that daft git you have of a father... no offence"

Lily laughed at the insult and shook her head, ' none taken... what did you want to say?"

Felix paused, gathering his wits, " this... you and I... this doesn't feel like friendship... or at least that's how I feel... Lily, I really hope this doesn't make you feel bad or anything but... my attraction to you has grown constantly since that day you tried to help when Wonka first arrived..." he looked at her, unsure whether to continue, but he did in the end, " I understand if this is something you don't want and I will back off if you ask me to, but I really want to be with you... romantically"

This was quite clearly difficult for Felix, having never admitted his feelings for another person before, sure he'd had partners but never anything serious, it was usually just so Arthur would get off his back about being with a woman.

" Felix... I feel the exact same way. I met you when I was 19 and honestly I have felt enamored by you ever since." Lily said softly, almost as if the walls would hear.

They both knew if her father and Arthur found out they'd disapprove, yet that didn't matter right now.

Felix took a step closer to her, satisfied by her answer and knowing she felt attraction to him too.

His hand cupping her jaw, ' may I kiss you?' He whispered the question.

' please do'

The kiss began soft and slow but the two had so many pent up feelings that it didn't remain that way, his hands moved to her hair and her arms snaked around his neck to pull him closer.

Lily smiled into the kiss, almost giggling at the tickle of his mustache, she had always thought he suited that mustache, always wondered how it would feel to kiss him. Now she knew. She couldn't believe this was happening.

I'm so so so sorry for the wait and please excuse how shit this chapter is, recently I've been struggling with my mental health due to issues I've had with family. I promise I'm going to try update more often and my writing will get better I hope.
