rin. Senior year already? Time really flies. Since moving to Hyogo on my own, I've grown so much more independent.
It feels like college and living in a dorm, being so far from my family, though I miss them dearly.
Now, as I enter my final year of high school, I'm considering returning home to Aichi and hopefully continuing to play volleyball-it's the one thing I'm good at.
"How does it feel to be chosen as this year's team captain by Kita?" I asked Atsumu, who was crying in the locker room.
It's always amusing to see Atsumu cry, especially since it's always because of Kita, and always tears of joy.
"S-so... so h-happy." Atsumu stammered, tears streaming down his face as he clutched his new jersey with the number 1 on it.
I patted his shoulder in comfort before sitting down next to Osamu, who was engrossed in a game on his phone.
"I heard Aikawa Mai got dumped today." Osamu said without looking up. I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"You mean the girl who's been at the top of our class since freshman year?" I asked. Osamu nodded. "Yeah, apparently her boyfriend of two years broke up with her."
Ginjima, who had been quietly listening until now, chimed in. "She's so hot. She's out of everyone's league, maybe except her boyfriend-he's hot too."
Osamu rolled his eyes. "Ginjima, is that all you ever think about?" Ginjima shrugged. "Just calling it like I see it. But seriously, it's surprising. They seemed like the perfect couple."
It's astonishing how quickly rumors spread around here. Still, it wasn't really any of our business.
"Oh yeah, by the way, we're hanging out at PizzAmazing later." Atsumu said, closing his locker. Finally, he had stopped crying.
I looked at him with narrowed eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you to stop coming to my work?" I asked, clearly annoyed.
"Hey, man. We're not there for you; it's for your hot manager. Plus, the pizza is amazing. Get it? Amazing?" Atsumu laughed at his own joke.
Ginjima scoffed and muttered, "And the crowd goes silent."
"Are you forgetting that our manager is my cousin?" I said, incredulous. "So?" Atsumu shrugged, completely unfazed.
I shook my head in disbelief. "You have no shame." I said. "Come on, man, it's all in good fun." Atsumu replied, still grinning.
"Besides, your cousin likes us. She even gives us extra toppings."
"She's just being polite." i retorted, but I knew it was pointless.
Atsumu, Osamu, and Ginjima had made PizzAmazing their hangout spot ever since I started working there.
Despite my protests, I had to admit that their presence did make the shifts more entertaining, even if it was just to see Atsumu embarrass himself trying to flirt with my cousin.
"Well, I gotta head to work. I'll see you three later-and please, don't beg for a discount again. We've gone through this." I said, walking out of the club room.
"We can't promise you that!" Atsumu yelled after me as I left.
I chuckled to myself, shaking my head as I made my way across campus. The three idiots were a handful, but they made life interesting.
