mai. And this is why I should never expect any day to be a good day. Today is, without a doubt, the worst day of my life.

I never imagined my senior year would start like this-getting dumped on the very first day, no less. And not just by anyone, but by the hottest guy in school.

Screw my life. It's already ruined beyond repair. As if the emotional wreckage wasn't enough, the gossip mill was already in full swing.

"Your reputation's in jeopardy." Himei said, her voice tinged with urgency as we walked out of the classroom after the final bell rang.

I could feel the stares and hear the whispers from our classmates. "Everyone knows you got dumped, Mai. You gotta do something about it." Yoru added.

I shook my head, feeling a wave of distress wash over me. "Look, guys, this isn't really the time to talk about my reputation." I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite the turmoil inside.

How could I possibly think about damage control when my heart felt like it had been ripped out and stomped on?

As we walked down the hallway, my path was suddenly blocked by the creep who had bothered me this morning.

"Ugh. Leave me alone." I snapped, irritation flaring up as I pushed him aside. Yoru and Himei couldn't help but giggle at the encounter, finding humor in my obvious frustration.

"Hey, you should think about accepting me as your prom date!" he yelled after me, his voice dripping with unwarranted confidence.

I didn't even bother to turn around. Instead, I rolled my eyes. The nerve of some people.

Here I was, dealing with the worst day of my life, and this guy thought it was the perfect time to make a move.

Himei nudged me playfully. "Well, at least you know you've got options." she teased, trying to lighten the mood.

"Yeah, sure," I replied sarcastically, managing a half-hearted smile. "Options like a broken elevator."

As we continued down the hallway, my eyes caught sight of Yoshi, my ex, walking towards a girl who was leaning casually on a car.

Instinctively, I stopped in my tracks, unable to tear my gaze away from the scene unfolding before me.

"Hey babe." he called out to her, his voice full of affection. He then hugged and kissed her, the sight sending a fresh wave of pain through my already aching heart.

"I didn't know his new girl was a famous model." Yoru said in disbelief, recognizing her instantly.

I sighed deeply, my chest tightening as I watched them continue to make out. It was like a car crash-I knew I should look away, but I couldn't.
