mai. Last night was absolute chaos. Everything fell apart so quickly. Suna ended up fighting with my ex, Yoshi. Turns out, they knew each other from way back and had a pretty bad history.

Now, I think Suna's probably mad at me, and I can't help but feel like this is all my fault.

"You ruined my party." Yoru confronted me during lunch, her eyes filled with frustration.

I had been trying to find a moment to apologize to Suna, but it seemed like I was constantly getting interrupted.

"I know, I'm sorry." I mumbled, feeling the weight of the situation. Yoru just rolled her eyes at my apology, clearly not convinced.

"Plus, I had no idea Yoshi used to bully him in middle school." I added, the guilt weighing heavily on me. "I'm starting to feel really bad about all of this."

I frowned, thinking about Suna and the stupid bet that started all this drama. Every time it crosses my mind, my heart sinks.

"The bet? Come on, Mai, you don't want to lose." Himei chimed in, trying to lighten the mood, but it wasn't working. The whole situation was a mess, and I didn't know how to fix it.

"You know, I'm starting to think that you actually care about Suna." Himei said, crossing her arms and giving me a scrutinizing look. I frowned, feeling a bit defensive.

"I do care about him." I admitted, my voice steady despite the butterflies in my stomach.

The two girls exchanged glances before bursting into mocking giggles. "Did you forget that a popular girl cannot date an unknown guy?" Yoru asked with a smirk.

I furrowed my brows, feeling a surge of frustration. "You moved on from Kurobane pretty quick, huh?" Himei added, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Look, it's not like that." I tried to explain, but it felt like I was talking to a wall. The whole situation was spiraling out of control.

"In case you forgot, you have three weeks left til prom night." Himei said. Right, three weeks left.

"Okay, but I have to admit, Suna totally won that fight last night." Yoru chuckled, clearly amused by the chaos.

I sighed, feeling overwhelmed by everything. "Not the time." I mumbled, not in the mood to discuss it any further.

Without another word, I turned and left the room, needing some space to clear my head.

At the end of the day, I decided to visit Suna at his workplace, PizzAmazing, hoping I could talk to him there.

I just prayed he wouldn't push me away—not because of the bet, but because he had become a good friend, and I didn't want to lose that friendship over my mistakes.

As I approached PizzAmazing, I saw Suna taking orders at the counter. I took a deep breath before opening the door, feeling a bit nervous.

This time, I waited in line, unlike the last time when I rudely cut ahead to ask Suna if he could teach me volleyball. I realized that was inconsiderate, so I decided to be patient this time.

When it was finally my turn, I bit my lip, nerves making my heart race. "Welcome to PizzAmazing, what can I get for you—" Suna started, then looked up and saw me.

"Can we talk?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly. He cleared his throat, looking a bit surprised. "Can you wait until my break?" he asked.

Thank goodness he wasn't avoiding me. "Of course." I nodded, feeling a small wave of relief, and walked over to one of the unoccupied tables to wait for him.

I waited about 15 minutes until Suna finally walked over and sat down across from me. I straightened up and gulped, the silence between us feeling heavy and awkward. I decided to break it first.

"I'm sorry." I said, my voice soft but sincere. Suna shook his head. "What are you sorry for?" he asked, sounding genuinely curious.

"For everything that happened last night. I pushed you to go to the party even though you didn't want to. It was my fault." I admitted, the guilt weighing heavily on me.

Suna listened quietly, then responded, "It wasn't your fault at all because I wanted to go. Clearly, I was an idiot for punching Kurobane and causing a scene."

Hearing him say that lifted some of the burden from my shoulders, but I knew we still had a lot to talk about. At least it was a start.

"I just couldn't stand the fact that he called you a bitch." Suna admitted, his tone tinged with indignation. I silently nodded in agreement, acknowledging the hurtful nature of the insult.

"Was that why you punched him in the face?" I asked, my voice laced with curiosity.

Suna sidestepped the question. "You didn't deserve that, Aikawa." he affirmed, his eyes reflecting a mix of apology and understanding.

"Neither did you," I countered. "How come you didn't tell me that Yoshi bullied you back in middle school?"

He chuckled softly, but there was a hint of bitterness in his laugh. "Because I didn't want to dredge up those bad memories." he explained.

I nodded, a sense of empathy washing over me. "I understand." I murmured. Sometimes, the past was better left buried, shielded from the harsh light of recollection.

"But whatever, it's in the past. I just hope he doesn't bother the both of us again. I mean, you're over him already, right?" he asked, a note of concern lacing his words.

I responded with a contemplative hum, silently affirming my resolution. "So you're not mad at me?" I asked, seeking reassurance that our bond remained unchanged.

Suna's reply came swiftly, easing my worries. "No, I'm not. Though I'm somewhat embarrassed to show my face at school now." he admitted.

I gasped in disbelief, eager to bolster his spirits. "Are you kidding me? People at school were singing your praises. You gave Yoshi a bloody nose." I exclaimed,

His laughter was a welcome melody, momentarily lifting the weight from our shoulders. But his demeanor soon shifted, a flicker of determination sparking in his gaze.

"Well, he deserved every bit of it." he declared.
