rin. This school year has been something else, and I'm not complaining. My first and second years of high school were snoozefests, but my third year? Now that's a different story. This year has been quite fun.
"Sandy toes and camel t—" Ginjima started, but I cut him off. "Don't even think about finishing that sentence." I said, shutting him up.
Currently, we're in the car headed to the beach. Aikawa and her friends are in another car, and I haven't seen her since yesterday. We just agreed to meet up at the beach when we get there.
And the driver? It's Kita. The four of us don't have our licenses yet, so we called Kita to drop us off since he lives around the area and, well, somehow tolerates us.
We actually tried inviting him to the beach, but he had other plans, so he's just playing chauffeur today.
"It's nice to see you tagging along, Suna." Kita said, glancing at me through the rearview mirror. I looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Every time my friends plan hangouts, I often back out because I get lazy and unmotivated.
But this year, I've decided to change things up. Maybe it's the summer sun getting to my head or just the thrill of junior year.
Either way, I'm here for the ride, sandy toes, camel t— (let's not go there), and all.
I glanced to my side and nearly jumped out of my skin—there were two identical white apparitions standing next to me.
"Dude... Are you two auditioning for ghost roles or something?" I asked the twins, who were diligently slathering sunscreen on themselves like it was going out of style.
"This isn't nearly enough." Osamu grumbled, shoving a nearly empty sunscreen bottle in my direction.
"I'll pass, thanks." I replied, pushing the bottle back. "I prefer not to look like Casper's cousin."
Osamu just shrugged, and then Atsumu piped up with far too much enthusiasm, "I can't wait to see them in their bikinis!"
I turned to him, eyebrows raised. "You're such a perv." He shook his head vigorously. "No, no, hear me out! Just picture Aikawa in a cute pink bikini."
I glared at him with all the disdain I could muster. "Absolutely not." He just sighed dramatically. "You have no imagination." he lamented.
"Correction," I said dryly, "I have plenty of imagination; I just use it for things that aren't creepy."
Osamu laughed as he handed the sunscreen back to Atsumu. "You might want to try using your imagination to get a tan instead of fantasizing about bikinis."
Atsumu gave a mock bow. "I shall consider your wise words, oh ghostly one."
Osamu rolled his eyes and continued applying more sunscreen. "Seriously, though, Atsumu, sometimes I wonder if you even have a filter."
