Estelle's POV

"Huxley concentrate please. Charlene wanted me to teach you how to work the register, I can only do that if you're actually paying attention." I say to Huxley who's giving me puppy eyes. I almost lose my focus while I'm staring into his brown eyes. Huxley sure knows how to use his charms.

He laughs at me, not taking anything I just said seriously. I should be annoyed but I'm not. His playfulness is actually endearing.

"Sorry Sunshine, just got lost in your eyes." Huxley says jokingly.

I fake a disgusted face. "Ew. Huxley, please don't." I say trying to contain a smile from creeping up my face.

Huxley shrugs. "Just kidding. Your reaction is just too funny."

I sigh. "Oh please. Just stop it, let's get serious now."

Huxley puts his hands up in surrender. "Yes I'm sorry. But I wasn't entirely joking. My mind's just too caught up with our upcoming date, so concentrating is kinda difficult."

I lightly blush at that. I am trying to not think of our date during my shift. But Huxley's making it really difficult to do so. I turn over to face Huxley. "What can I do to make you pay attention to work again?"

Huxley makes a facial expression that's supposed to look likes he's actually thinking. I don't buy it. He's gonna say something unserious I can just feel it.

"Mmh. Good one." He takes his time to answer me.

A daring look flashes onto his face. "How about a reward?"

I scrunch my nose at that. A reward? What does he mean by that? I give him a confused stare.

Huxley grins sheepishly. "I could think of something."

"Well. What is it?" I ask half confused half curious.

He smiles at me while taking a big step closer, almost closing the space between us. Huxley cups my cheek in his hand while intently staring at my lips. I grow uneasy at his sudden closeness. He shouldn't make my heart beat this fast at work. Yes, we're at work. So this can't happen. Whatever this is.

His eyes are still set on my lips. I grow hotter by the second. I might be an outgoing person, but when it comes to the person I like, I become shy. Like how Huxley's making me feel right now. I'm being watched. He's not taking his eyes off of me. And I'm not even doing anything about it. I just stand here frozen. Letting him rest his hand on my face.

Weirdly enough, Huxley's not moving forward. He's just keeping this position without closing the little distance between us. He's definitely enjoying this, making me feel all shy. I take a breath and look him in the eyes.

As if he can feel my eyes moving upwards, he lifts his gaze towards my eyes. My grey eyes meet his brown ones. I blink.

I feel a soft finger brush over my cheek. He's caressing my cheek in the most gentle way. I'm caught up in whatever he's doing to me right now. I stride towards him, leaving only his hand from keeping our faces apart. I don't dare to move any further, that would mean closing the little distance left between us. I'm not doing that. I don't have the guts to make the first move. So I wait for Huxley, staring at him with hopeful eyes.

Cling.

The door opens. We're interrupted again. Huxley's face is now painted in dissatisfaction, he's not even hiding it. I try my best to look as indifferent as possible but fail to do so. We let go of each other and turn towards the door.

Charlene is standing at the entrance giving us a disapproving look. Okay here comes the storm.

"Huxley and Estelle. It's working hour not couple time okay." She mutters.
