Morning came and the hobbits woke to Strider shaking them awake. The hobbits got ready but quickly noticed that Y/n was not with them.
"Where is Y/n?" Frodo asked as he looks by the window where she had sat last night.
"Elves are not usually welcome here so she is waiting outside for us." Strider says, quickly packing things on the old pony, Bill.
They walked out of Bree to see Y/n sitting on the ground, inspecting her blade. Upon seeing the others arrive, she stood up and put her sword away. She follows them into a rather overgrown forest.
"Where are you taking us?" Frodo asks.
"Into the wild." Strider answers.
Y/n follows behind the hobbits as they trekked through the forest.
"Where is he leading us?" Sam asked.
"To Rivendell, Master Gamgee... to the house of Elrond." Strider says as he pauses to look at Sam.
"Did you hear that, Bill? Rivendell! We're going to see the Elves!" Sam says excitedly.
"I feel quite appreciated Master Sam." Y/n jested leaving an embarrassed hobbit. The others laugh and chuckle at Sam's reaction to her words.
"Not that I don't enjoy your company ma'am, but I was just talking about..." Sam says, stumbling over his words.
"Fret not, I only jest." Y/n says as she rustles his hair, her voice light with mirth.
They continue walking as Y/n walks in the back. Merry and Pippin tell Y/n stories of the Shire as they walk. Y/n would smile at the mischief they caused. She listened to the stories describing the Shire, where they lived, a smile on her lips. Frodo and Sam would chime in every now and then with their versions of the Shire. Eventually, Y/n made her way up to Strider.
Strider and Y/n lead the hobbits across the windswept moors when they suddenly hear the clanking of some pots. Y/n turns quickly and stares down at the hobbits.
"Gentlemen, we don't stop until nightfall." Strider says as his eyes glance at each hobbit.
"What about breakfast?" Pippin quipped up. Y/n raised her eyebrow as she looked at Strider.
"You've already had it." Strider says, slightly puzzled.
"We've had one, yes... but what about Second Breakfast?" Pippin asked only to have the rogue and ranger look at him blankly. It finally started to settle in with the others that they weren't accustomed to their way of living.
"I don't think they know about second breakfast, Pip." Merry says as the others start packing their things. Meanwhile Y/n got into Strider's bag and pulled out a few apples.
"What about Elevenses, Luncheon, Afternoon Tea, dinner... they know about them, don't they?" Pippin asks, almost frantically.
"I wouldn't count on it." Merry says as Y/n tosses the apple behind her and Merry catches the apple. Merry looks at Pippin before smiling and follows the ranger and rogue. Another apple is thrown but Pippin doesn't catch it and it hits his forehead making Y/n smirk behind her hand. Y/n then slipped an apple into Frodo's hands before giving one to Sam as well. Frodo watched as the elleth walked ahead of him before biting into the apple.Y/n and Strider had led the hobbits to an old watch tower in Weathertop. They all sit down with a groan as Strider drops four short swords in front of them.
"They are for you. Keep them close. We're going to have a look around. Stay here." Strider says before leaving with Y/n. Y/n follows Strider into the woods. "Are you positive it is safe to leave them on their own?" Y/n asks, a feeling telling her to go back.
"If anything happens, we'll be in close range." Strider says as he continues walking. Y/n's e/c eyes glance back at where the hobbits were before following Strider deeper into the woods. As they looked around the area, the sun began to set. They both stopped walking when they heard the dreaded shriek of the ring wraiths.
Wasting no time, Y/n and Strider started running back to the hobbits. Y/n puts fire on one of her arrows and shoots it at a ring wraith, making it shriek. Strider and Y/n get to the top as Strider uses a torch to catch the ring wraiths on fire. Y/n sees Frodo come back visibly and runs to him.
"No, no, no, no..." Y/n whispers as she looks over his wound. Y/n looks over at the blade beside Frodo and frowns even more.
"Help him, Y/n!" Sam yells frantically. Y/n looks down at the blade as it suddenly turns to dust and she looks over at Strider.
"He's been stabbed by a Morgul blade." Strider says with slight disgust as he kicks the hilt of the sword. Y/n puts Frodo's head on her lap as she mutters some word in Sindarian.
"Do something!" Sam yells, looking between Strider, Y/n, and Frodo frantically.
"This is beyond my skill to heal. He needs Elvish medicine." Strider says as he picks up Frodo from Y/n's lap. Sam looks at Y/n, as if expecting her to have the medicine.
"Master Sam, I may be an elf, but I do not have the medicine you seek." she says quietly before standing. "Come, we must hurry if we want to save your friend."
Strider and Y/n are jogging ahead, a grim silence as Strider carries the ailing Frodo. Sam, Merry, and Pippin were running to keep up with the two.
"We are six days from Rivendell." Sam cries out as Frodo groans. Y/n glances at Sam before looking at Frodo. "Hold on Frodo..." Y/n whispers.
"He'll never make it!" Sam cries. Y/n looks at the barely conscious Frodo before looking at Strider grimly. She can hear him feverly calling out for Gandalf.
"Have strength Frodo..." Y/n says in Sindarian before looking behind her as her eyes can see the ring wraiths following them. Her lips form a thin line as she looks at Frodo, his brow is beaded with sweat and his breathing is shallow. Y/n uses her sleeve to wipe off his sweat as Pippin looks from Frodo to Strider.
"Is he going to die?" Pippin asks before looking at Strider. "No. He is passing into the shadow world, he will soon become a wraith like them." Strider says as a shriek sounds. Y/n's head snaps over to the sound and sees they have gotten even closer.
"They're close." Merry says, slightly panicked. Y/n rests a hand on Merry's shoulder before looking at Sam. "Master Sam, do you know the Athelas plant?" she asks urgently. Sam looks at her blankly, "Athelas?"
"Kingsfoil." Strider cuts in, making Sam look up at him. "Kingsfoil. Aye. It's a weed." Sam responds, confused as to why they were asking about it.
"It may help to slow the poison. Hurry!" Strider says as he hands Frodo to Y/n. Sam and Strider hurriedly try to find the weed. Y/n stays behind as she holds onto Frodo, praying to Valar to help Frodo.
"Will he be okay?" Pippin asks Y/n. Y/n looks over at Pippin before giving him a grim smile, "by Valar's will, I hope so."
Y/n looks up to see Arwen and sighs in relief. "Arwen , mellonin. Please help him, I've tried, but he does not respond to me."
Arwen goes to Frodo who was still in Y/n's arms.
"You did what you could... Frodo, I'm Arwen, I have come here to help you. Hear my voice, come back to the light." Arwen says in Sindarian.
Frodo closes his eyes and Arwen and Y/n both call to him in a worried tone. Arwen looks at Y/n before holding onto Frodo's hand. "He's fading...he's not going to last. We must get him to my father."
Y/n lifts Frodo onto Arwen's horse as she speaks to Strider.
Arwen gets onto her horse and looks down at Strider and Y/n. "I do not fear them." Arwen says before leaving with Frodo.
"What are you doing! Those Wraiths are still out there!" Sam shouts. Y/n turns to Sam and rests a hand on his shoulder, "He's going to be okay. This is the fastest way to get your friend to safety and to get him his medicine."
"We must hurry!" Strider bellows as he looks at the remaining hobbits and the rogue. Y/n ushers the hobbits ahead of her, staying behind the hobbits to ensure their safety.
