They arrived at Rivendell and were ushered to separate rooms to rest and eat. The hobbits kept asking about Frodo to the point they were shown the way to the medical house. Y/n followed behind them and stopped when she saw Gandalf in the distance. Looking between the hobbits and Gandalf, she slowly made her way to Gandalf. Gandalf puffed on his smoke pipe before looking over at the half-elf quietly standing beside him.
"I never thought I'd see you here again." Gandalf mused as he inhaled the pipe smoke.
"Nor did I, but I guess life never goes as we plan. Do I assume correctly?" Y/n asks as she looks at Gandalf. He hums as he looks off into the distance.
"I'm not overly surprised to see two more hobbits here." Gandalf finally says, before looking at Y/n. Y/n's face goes into a small smile, "a lively two."
Gandalf nods before making his way into the medical house. Y/n stands outside, looking in from a window. Seeing Frodo's sleeping figure and his friends, she smiles before walking away to her chambers to clean up and rest. On her way to her chambers, she sees Arwen.
"Mellonin, I'm so happy to see you here again." Arwen says as she walks up to Y/n.
"I'm happy to lay eyes upon my mother's birthplace once more, but I'm not here to stay." Y/n says as she walks with Arwen.
"The hobbit... he is the reason you returned." Arwen says in the common tongue.
"Until I am not needed, yes." Y/n says as she looks out over Rivendell.
"This place will always welcome you as a home." Arwen says before leaving Y/n to herself.
Y/n sighs as she turns from the view and walks to her chambers.

Word of Frodo's awakening had gotten to Y/n from the mouth of Gandalf and she made her way to the medical house during the night to check up on him. She entered the room and looked over to see Frodo sitting up in his bed looking at her. Y/n didn't wear her usual traveling clothes, instead she was adorned in a cream colored dress with a vine green shawl and her hair flowing freely behind her.
"I wondered if you were going to come..." he whispered. Y/n smiled at him as she sat beside him. They sat in a comfortable silence for a few seconds before Y/n spoke.
"I'm sorry I couldn't have been faster in saving you... I shouldn't have left you four." Y/n says as she looks at the light the moon gave off. Frodo looked at Y/n whose face was basking in the moonlight, his heart seemingly to beat a bit faster.
"I never blamed you or Strider..." Frodo says quietly as he looks down at his folded hands. As he looks up from his hands and sees Y/n smiling warmly at him, her hand rests on his momentarily before going back to resting on her lap.
"You know... The Shire has many hills and streams..." Frodo says, looking away from Y/n's smiling face so she didn't know he was staring. "You should see it..."
"Maybe after our adventure, I'll go see where you grew up." she says quietly. "But right now, it is best if you rest a little."
Frodo nods as he watches Y/n gracefully stand up and leave the medical house. Frodo sighs as he rests his head on the pillow, a small smile playing at his lips at seeing the elleth.

A few days passed and Y/n, Pippin, and Merry were making their way through the gardens when they saw Sam and Frodo. Frodo turns and smiles at Merry and Pippin, but grins when he sees Y/n standing a distance away, near the arch.
"Frodo! Frodo!" Merry says as he and Pippin throw their arms around him. Y/n on the other hand saw an old friend of hers and went to go greet him.
"Hello my friend." Y/n says as she sits down by the old hobbit. He turns to look at the elleth and smile.
"My word, Y/n, it's been so long." Bilbo says making Y/n smile. "I thought you left Rivendell a long time ago?"
"I did, but a few hobbits brought me back..." she says as she and Bilbo turn to look at Sam, Merry, Pippin, and Frodo. Frodo's face broke out into a smile at seeing Bilbo. Bilbo smiles as Frodo runs up to him. Y/n stands and ushers the other hobbits to give them space.

"I didn't know you were friends with Y/n." Frodo says as he sits with Bilbo as he watches the Elleth leave with his friends.
"Yes, she was a kind young lady back then. A little lost in the world, but that never stopped the smile on her face when she saw me and the company." Bilbo says. "She left Rivendell the same day me and the company left."
Frodo looked at Bilbo perplexed, "you mean, she never came back until now?"
Bilbo nodded, "she never had a reason to return until she met you four."
