A Few Hours after Part 54

North Sea

23:43 Hours, Local time

Weather: Thunderstorm, Winds - 48 knots NE

The North Atlantic was famous for its terrible conditions. Worse storm than any Daniel had mostly experienced before.

Practically all of the crew were below decks, as it was utterly miserable up top.

Daniel pitied whichever unlucky person who was up there with a rain cape on in gale-force winds. The radar was usually not up to snuff in most circumstances, so binoculars were practically always used.

As for Daniel himself, his officer coat had allowed him to get over to the officer's dedicated rooms, while tiny and cramped, had a bed and privacy.

The interior lighting was dim and red.

There was a porthole that looked out of the out of the ship, but the pitch-blackness made it utterly useless, save for the momentary flash of lightning to light up the room, followed by a lingering boom of thunder.

Daniel did have the cube with him, but he didn't want to place it anywhere outside of his pocket, else someone unwanted might get curious

Thunder wasn't as loud as it was earlier for some reason, Daniel didn't know whether if he was losing his hearing from all of the recent explosions of gunfire and nuclear warheads, or if it was because the ocean was separated from his ears by a three hundred millimeter thick Krupp-steel slab.

Parzival (U-556's nickname) was using the officer coat that Daniel had a bit earlier as a makeshift pillow, lying on the middle of the floor.

She didn't care, of course. She was tiny and likely thought this was some exciting adventure rather than some horrifying game of playing chicken with death itself.

*knock *knock

Someone knocked on the door, momentarily breaking up the rhythms of rain in Daniel's ears

"This room is occupied, if you  are drunk, go away." Daniel said in super groggy voice, sounding nothing like himself.

"Yes, I'm sorry.... But have you seen a small girl with blue hair? She has been lost for hours and..." a familiar voice said.

"Lord Bismarck!" Parzival squeaked in delight, rising from her sleep with all of the subtlety of a depth charge going off.

She leaped over to the handle and yanked open the door. Her short height certainly not helping with reaching the handle.

Bismarck, who was already worried about the conditions aboard, had some signs of nervousness on her face, but that was quickly nullified upon seeing the shipgirl version of U-556 again.

"It's about time you showed up! We haven't seen each other for approximately six hours and fifty three minutes!"Parzival exclaimed.

"....You counted?" Bismarck asked.

"Yup! Every minute! What took you so long-"

"Could you please do me favor and shut up, please?" Daniel interrupted, covering his head with a pillow.

"Like, I'm sorry about you living warship types, but I'm a human being, and I can get tired. And you both are extremely loud."
