Daniel moved towards the deck,His boots clacking on the steel floor,
"Why do these stairs have to be so steep?..." Daniel said to himself.
There was nothing attacking them so far, but Daniel had no clue whether or not to be worried, especially based on the sense of urgency.
The British (or whatever British equivalent is in this universe) just flew a plane above their head.
Somehow, the "British" government is still carrying out operations against Ironblood even though there's an alien invasion going on.
Are aliens a common thing in here or something?
Well, this is supposed to be some gacha game, so some cheap gimmicks are to be expected, which can help at least somewhat with knowing what to expect, Daniel hoped.
However, nobody on this ship's crew could possibly know what a gacha game is, so naturally, there's about a thousand times more confusion and distress.
Daniel could see the effects of said confusion and distress on the crew, who were (hopefully) getting used to having even their wildest expectations subverted.
However, despite the hopelessness and constant peril of being hunted down in a literal ocean by the [equivalent of the] British Empire and a bunch of extraterrestrial beings with laser ships, the staff managed to somehow keep a sense of discipline.
The Bismarck's crew was a complete volunteer crew selected for their higher than average skill.
And also, everyone moved like their survival depended on it, which was probably the only two reasons why they were still afloat,
That and the fact that their survival DEFINITELY depended on how they performed, which was easier to do when the motivation is certain death by siren.

The Bismarck made for open waters at full speed.
Thick smoke billowed out of the smokestack, emitting an ominous trail in the sky.

Daniel made his way to the deck after an obnoxiously long journey through the endless maze of interior hallways.
He arrived near the aft section of the deck,
*CREEEK
He opened the heavy steel door.
Immediately after he did so however, he was immediately blown with a wave of seawater splashing on deck, the freezing water immediately taking his breath away.
