As Alexander and Sophia's relationship flourished, Alexander continued his work on the time machine with renewed vigor. He felt inspired by the love and support Sophia provided. Their life together was filled with joy and laughter, and Alexander wanted to take their commitment to the next level.

One sunny afternoon, he decided it was time to propose. He planned an elaborate surprise, organizing a picnic at the botanical garden where they often spent time together. He packed a basket with Sophia's favorite foods, a bottle of wine, and a bouquet of her favorite flowers.

As they strolled through the garden, hand in hand, Alexander guided her to a secluded spot by a sparkling fountain. "This place is beautiful," Sophia said, taking in the vibrant blooms and the soothing sound of the water.

Alexander spread out a blanket and they settled down, enjoying the delicious food and each other's company. After they finished eating, Alexander turned to Sophia, his heart pounding with anticipation. "There's something I've been meaning to ask you," he began, reaching into the basket.

Sophia's eyes widened as he pulled out a small velvet box. "Sophia, you are my everything. You've brought so much joy and love into my life. I can't imagine a future without you. Will you marry me?"

Tears filled Sophia's eyes as she nodded, unable to speak. Alexander slipped the ring onto her finger, and they embraced, their hearts full of happiness and love. It was a moment they would cherish forever.
