Under The Mask

Chatterbox smiles beneath his mask, hearing that statement, "I"m trying so yucking hard!"
Chatterbox's voice begings to crack, "You see Tessa, this beautiful spitfire of a person, thinks she doesn't deserve anything, and she believes she pushes everyone away!"
"I know Chatty, but that's when you have to show her that she's wrong. She is more like you than you think she's been through so much, bull yuck in her life!"
Sometimes, it's hard to accept that things might just be working out for you."

"I just don't know what I would yuckin do without her, I'm sad, Tessa!"
"Why, Chatty, talk to me!"
"You remember that night in the police station, you know, the night I..." Chatterbox swallows hard. "I did horrible things?"

"Yes, Chatty, I remember."
"I don't want to do that again. I'm scared of that!"
"It was a mistake Chatterbox, you were protecting yourself!"
Chatterbox distressed puts his face in his hand. "I know."
Tears fall down chatter boxes face. "I know I was protecting myself, but I want to protect her! I don't want to worry about hurting her!"

Tessa sighs, "Now Chatty, do you really think Hiccups would put you in a situation like that?"
"Not on purpose."
"Okay then, this is what I meant by saying. Don't let your minds tear you apart! You can't worry about what may happen."
"But I do!"

"I know you do, Chatty, I know, but you have to think, the universe brought you two together because you belong together. Does that make sense?
Everything is connected, Chatty. If the "Mistake" you made years ago hadn't been made, then the universe would have had a spot for Ray Mond in your life.
In this way!"
Chatterbox sits silently with his head still in his hands.
"Does that make sense, Chatty?"
"It does, But....."
Tessa smacks Chatty on the arm. "Ow."
"I want you to stop that! Take that word out of your vocabulary Chatterbox."
"Why, though!"
"I need you to live in the moment, Chatty. If you feel like you should say it, say it. If you want to hold her hand, grab her hand! It might be awkward in the moment, but living like that assures that if anything happens, you'll have no regrets."
Chatterbox wipes his face and sniffles. "Do you understand?"
"I do." I'm gonna go back downstairs and be the good clown mom. I'll see you in a bit, okay?"
"Tessa?"
"Yes, Chatty!"
"You're a great Yucking Clown mom! Thank you!"
" Any time, Chatterbox!"
Chatterbox continues to sit on the roof for a while.

Ray Mond is sitting on the roof, right above him, in the same position as her handsome clown below.
Tears flowing from her eyes, listening to Chatty, talk about her like that.  "He really does love me, and he loves me for me!"

Ray Mond gets up from her seat quietly, running to the other side of the house where she can jump down without being seen by Chatterbox.
She runs around the house and takes her phone out of her pocket.
*Dialing Kitty*

"Hi Ray!"
"Hi! Uh, Kitty. I have a question!?"
"Of course! What's up!?"

"Uh, how do you know if you love someone?"
"UM wow! Okay. I mean honestly Ray you just know, You can't stop thinking about them. You're happy when you're with them, unhappy without them. You want whats best for them. You want to see them happy! Why do you.....OMG RAYYYYY!"
"What?!"
"ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH CHATTY?!"
"Um, maybe!? Um, I don't know... I'm uh thinking about it."
"Well, does he love you?!"
"Uh huh? Yeah, he does!"
"WHAT OH MY GOD RAY!!!! I"M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!"
"I uh, I'm happy too, I think...."
Kitty laughs
"Ray, why wouldn't you be happy? He fucking loves you! He takes care of you! He want's to be with you! Please consider all that before running the other way!"
"How did you um know... that's what I was thinking about?"
"Because I know you!"
Ray Scofs "You didn't know me as well as you think you do Kitty, What if I was thinking about running right to him confessing I love him and giving him a huge hug and kiss? Huh? What about that?!"
"Well I mean honestly that's what I would recommend." Kitty laughs but I know that won't be what happens, You've got to think about it a bit."
".....Yeah, I do."
"Well be honest with yourself Ray Mond! You actually have a good one. He really does care for you!"
"I will kitty, I promise. I'll be home later, and we can talk if you're still up!"
"Okies Sounds good, Think hard Ray Mond!"
*Call disconnected*
Ray Mond walks around the fun house and into the front door. She walks up the stairs and out onto the balcony of their bedroom.
"Hey Handsome."
Chatterbox turns around.. so surprise. "Who?"
"You heard what I said!" Ray giggled "Well I know you can't be talking to me in this yucking clown mask."
"Uh huh, Sure I  am Chatty, because I know the  handsome face that's hidden underneath"

Chatty looks up at Cups, The sunset hitting her face just right. "Eh you aren't to yucking bad yourself Cups"
Ray Mond smiled, that Chatty took the compliment. She sits down right beside him. Chattys heart skipped a beat as the dream comes to mind.
"Oh yeah, you think so Chatty."
"What do you yucking mean Ray, You're beautiful! You hide beneath a yuckin' mask too ya know?!"
Ray Mond giggles, "Oh my bunny mask?"
"Nope."
"Well what mask then Chatty? I haven't really worn a clown mask lately."
"Not so much a mask Ray Mond. More like a yuckin' wall."
Ray's heart is racing, "How has this man figured me the fuck out." she thought.
"What are you talking about Chatty? You know everything about me, it's not like I'm hiding anything!?"
"Oh so you're not hiding anything?" "No! I'm not!"
"Oh, okay Ray!"
"It's Cups!" "Oh yeaaah.....Cups!"
"If you know me so well, You tell me what I'm hiding."
" Nope, you said you're not hiding anything Cups and I'm not pushin' my luck today. You've already smoked me once."
Both of them laughing, "Nah Chatty just tell me what you think I'd hide if I "Were hiding something"?"
"Well, Uh Cups, I know you're not hiding anything about your life, No secret boy friends, No malecious intent none of that bull yuck."
Ray Mond Laughs "Nah, Not that I've told you about anyway!"
"The thing that you're hinding with your mask is well. You!"
"Hiding me? How can I be hiding me if you know my intent and know I don't have any secrets?"
"Cups, you hide your passion, your love, your want, for the life you want and need and have searched for, you try so hard to put on a brave face! When sometimes you just want to be hugged, held, and kissed and told, everything is going to be okay."
"What makes you so sure chatty?"
"Well, Cups, because you're just like me!"
