Gurpreet climbs to the first floor dragging his legs over the steps. He was pushing himself against the wall to muster his force. His flat belly started to sag like a slime stuck to a wall. He was physically fit and healthier compared to an average person. However, Depression converted him into a man, making him forget his ideals. His foot lands on the first floor with great effort. Intoxicated with the large amounts of alcohol, his legs moved in a zigzag manner. He finally reached a large bookshelf which almost touched the ceiling and was 6 feet wide. Then, he pushes the leftmost shelf like a sliding door. There was a rectangular metal slab with 10 numbers as buttons had an LED screen on top. He types down a four-digit code on it. The shelf pops out like the metal cap on a Coke bottle.

This secret room was like a luxurious laboratory. If the Jews found this kind of place during World War 2, They would never have to worry about the Nazis after them. The room was completely air-conditioned. There was 1 tube light on every wall. A fridge to store a few drinks, A King- size couch and a 90-inch LED TV in the laboratory. The shelves had Chemicals for his experiments, two granite platforms to conduct the experiments and a sink.

He walked towards a small photo frame on the edge of the sink. Looking at it, A teardrop fell from his left eye on his soft cheek muscles. He gave a light smile. In the photo, He was lifting a woman from her hips with his arms tightly. He kissed her cheeks while the woman smiled. She almost seemed to be his height. Her Dark Hair fell over her right shoulder. Her smile showcased her beautiful dimples. Never in his life, had he thought that he would be so lucky to get such a beautiful woman. Just how suddenly happiness entered his life, it faded away at that same speed.

"Kayla. Please wait for me." He cried. "You know that I love you. I will ensure nothing happens to you. All I ask is for you is to wait."

The TV lights up with the 3-D image of the color-shaped pendant. He hits the remote to the floor at the sight of the pendant. He roars with his head facing the ceiling.

"Why? Why would you do this to me, God? After so much hard work, I tried to get myself time to live with my wife. I spent 2 years of hard work to make this pendant. I worked day and night for this and you know it!! YOU KNOW IT!! I have been running only to two places for the past 2 years. The hospital and the laboratory. I spend days and nights just with my wife. I miss the touch of her delicate fingers. I miss the kiss she gives with her soft lips on my cheeks. I miss her fresh sandalwood scent that pulls me to her. I MISS EVERYTHING. I FUCKING MISS EVERYTHING ABOUT HER!!" Gurpreet cries,  his back leaning on to the wall.

He lies down on the floor with his folded hands. He was facing the small window on his rooftop.

"Please!! Please let me meet her. I will take care of her. I will forget science and the laboratory. Please let me live with her. P...Pl... Please."
