Jeongyeon tried ignoring the signs. She did her best to act normal despite the changes. But, she can't deny how these changes were slowly affecting her. It's making her crazy.
"Celine, could you send me the document for the proposal of Mr. Alvarez?"
"Sure, Miss Yoo. I'll be forwarding it right now"
"Thank you"
She checked the inbox of her email to open the file that her secretary sent to start reviewing the proposal.
Jeongyeon's been pretty busy these days, even busier than before. She's been caught up with their underground business that leaves her company work unattended.
So now, she's catching up with all of the papers that needs to be signed and reviewed. It's already nine in the evening, but here she is, still stuck inside her office.
"Miss Yoo, do you need anything else?" Celine asked.
"Uh none at the moment. I'm sorry for keeping you past your working hours, you may now rest for the night" Jeongyeon told her, still busy typing something on her computer.
"No problem, Miss Yoo. I will now take my leave" Her secretary bowed as she gathered her things and left the room.
Jeongyeon was left alone inside her office. The only sound that could be heard were her keyboard and the rustling of papers.
Inside the compartment of her desk, her phone was in put in a silent mode. Unbeknownst to her, 50 missed calls have been made by her lover.
She was too busy with her papers that she forgot to even eat for lunch and now dinner. The only content of her stomach was the iced americano she ordered early in the morning, and a bite of the sandwich her secretary brought her.
On the other side, Nayeon can't stay still on her living room. She keeps pacing back and forth, her phone's restless as she keeps dialing Jeongyeon's number.
Due to impatience, she decided to stop.
If Jeongyeon wouldn't answer her damn phone, then she'll just go and talk to her directly.
She hastily grabbed her car keys and made her way to her car that was parked outside.
She doesn't even know where is Jeongyeon, but she drives her car towards the Yoo Corporation.
It's the only place that Jeongyeon could have been. Because if she's not there, where else would she be?
Nayeon arrived at the large building and was greeted by the guard at duty. The receptionist was already gone as it is past their working hours.
The whole floor was dimly lit, but that doesn't bother Nayeon at all. She have seen and experience far more terrible things in life. A ghost doesn't scare her anymore.
She entered the elevator and pushed the top button, the CEO's floor.
Inside the CEO's office, Jeongyeon was still continuously working. She's wearing her reading glasses, but her eyes still hurts from the light coming from the monitor.
"Why haven't you answering my calls?"
Jeongyeon almost fell from her seat as a voice suddenly emerged from somewhere.
"Oh my gosh Nayeon! If I die from a heart attack, I'm totally blaming you"
"As if I'll let you die. It'll have to rain bunnies before that even happens"
Jeongyeon removed her glasses, placing it at her desk as she pushed her blonde hair back.
"What are you doing here? In this late hour...?"
