She pulled back the parasol for another swing when a voice stopped her.
"Mary!" The voice echoed.
"Stop," her uncle entered.
"Oh, Mr Wright! Are you alright?" He began helping the thief.
"Mr Wright? Mary asked confused.
"Yes, this is Mr Wright, he is our house guest," Mr Philip explained.
"But...."
"It was not a thief Mary! " Kitty informs from behind.
"Why in the world would you think it was a thief?" Her aunt cried.
"Because no one was at home and the library was a mess—
"We were preparing for cases, he is doing his legal apprenticeship under me," her uncle explained.
"We had gone to the market for a few minutes with the servants," Mrs Philip explained.
"I very sorry Mr..." Mary began.
"Mr Wright," the blond man says.
"Yes, I sincerely apologise Mr Wright. I did not know..."
"It's alright," Mr Wright cuts her off holding his bruised arm in his hand.
"Can I help you with that," Mary offers.
"I think you have done enough Miss," Mr Wright said as he left with Mr Philip.
"Oh Mary are you alright?" Her aunt inquired
"Yes, but I am sorry for the misunderstanding and..."
"Do not worry about it dear, you apologise and besides I had get to the library sometime or the other."
"No, let me do it, think of this as my apology," Mary proposes.
"You don't have to dear."
"Please let me," she insisted.
Mary went to the library and eyed all the arranging she brought upon herself. She started immediately wanting to complete everything before lunch. She started with the top most shelf and made her way down. She surprisingly enjoyed this more than she thought. She liked to be occupied and organise things. As she arranged she felt someone else's presence in the room.
"Hey, is someone there?" She asked in paranoia.
"No, just a thief."
"Oh, Mr Wright," Mary said as she caught a sight of his blond hair. "How is your arm now?" She asked with guilt.
"Not broken, if that's what you're asking."
"Of course not, but I'm glad," she said sternly.
"Glad for the parasol and not a knife."
"Mr Wright, I have already apologised."
"Yes, you did," he acknowledges. " but that won't take the pain away now, will it?"
